Community service is part of the University of Mobile experience. UM’s annual Project Serve sends over 1,300 students to 83 locations in Baldwin and Mobile counties to sing with residents at assisted living centers, tutor children, build Habitat for Humanity homes, give blood pressure checks, and more.

New Academic Programs Now, more than ever, it is an xciting time to be a University of Mobile student. New academic programs have been started, current programs expanded, and more new programs are being added. Here are just a few of the academic enhancements happening now at the Baptist-affiliated university: • University of Mobile created the Alabama School of the Arts as the academic entity for the departments of music, worship leadership, theatre and visual arts. The Roger Breland Center for Performing Arts serves as the professional entity of the Alabama School of the Arts in providing venues for students to engage in productions for the community, such as the popular Christmas Spectacular that draws an audience of more than 10,000 locally and is televised worldwide. • The new College of Health Professions includes the existing School of Nursing, newly developed School of Health and

Sports Science, and newly created School of Allied Health. Newly renovated classrooms and labs provides students with state-ofthe-art technology that simulate critical real-life healthcare situations.

4-Day Academic Week We have a unique approach to learning, with our new four-day academic week and Focus Fridays. You will go to classes Mondays through Thursdays, immersing yourself in academic programs that stretch your mind. On Fridays, you focus on enriching academic opportunities and amazing student life experiences. Focus Fridays are your time to refresh, renew and reinvigorate. Your Focus Fridays can include internships, field experiences, academic clubs and honor societies. You may volunteer in the community with faculty, building mentoring relationships while you build a Habitat for Humanity home. It’s your day to pursue your interests and have new experiences, like kayaking on Mobile Bay, traveling to inner cities across the U.S. for missions, or working on an in-depth

study project in your field. Focus Fridays give you the time you need in college to explore your professional calling, volunteer and impact a community, grow spiritually and deepen your faith, develop friendships and share experiences.
