After lunch walked round Castle Hill etc. Shot 1 rabbit. Wrote letters. Saturday December 26 Hunting morning. Got on 'Slap Bang' & off again. Changed. Walk round with gun & Stumps. Enjoyed lunch very much. After wrote letters. Hamilton back. Read Napoleon book, O'Meara. Dinner. Bed 11.0pm. Sunday December 27 At Elmley. Fine morning. Girls church. Rained after. Ham & self went for walk all round park with dogs. Ju & rabbit. Home tea. Dinner. Bed early. Monday December 28 At Elmley. 1st day's shoot. Very cold. Top of hill. Blank wood. 26 rabbits, 3 hares. Home at dinner. Drenched with rain. Good read before dinner. Bed 11.0pm. Tuesday December 29 At Elmley. 2nd day's shoot. Went along hedge etc & thro woods. Got about 24 rabbits, no hares. Home. Heartburn. Dinner. Bed 11.0pm. Sleepy.
