Hybrid Reassemble: An Exploration of Craft, Digital Fabrication and Artifact Uniqueness How could interior design bring craftsmanship and digital emerging technology together and embrace the value of hand-making in the context of the con-temporary postdigital society? The thesis proposes a collaborative artwork space that fosters multidisciplinary creativity in arts and crafts. The proposal is situated in Gowanus in Brooklyn, a neighborhood currently under the change from industrial uses to a hub for artists, designers, and makers. The design methodology is based on the use of digital design and fabrication technologies combined with traditional craft for the production of space and creative material experimentation.

SOFTSCAPE_ Fan
2015.11
The original notion of fan is to induce an airflow for the purpose of cooling or refreshing oneself, wave back and forth create a small airflow, hand fan also a highly decorative and desired object among the higher classes. The small version hand fan mostly used to shield the lady’s mouth when they talk private to someone else, or sheld face against the glace of sun. The notion of fold and unfold represent public and private.
I developed two types of softscape for different purpose, the one is allowed people to collaborate and work together. Another one is for people to take a nap or be alone and recharge.By using felt and wood to create higher level of privacy, at the same time maitain flexibility.

BRANDING DESIGN - SHAZAM RETAIL STORE PROPOSAL
2016.07
BRAND ANALYSIS What is Shazam ? Fun / Innovative / Empowering / Personalized / Insightful Shazam is an app for Macs, PCs and smart phones, best known for its music identification capabilities that has expanded to integrations with cinema, advertising, TV and retail environments. Founded in 1999 by Chris Barton, Philip Inghelbrecht, Avery Wang, and Dhiraj Mukherjee. Shazam uses a smartphone or computer's built-in microphone to gather a brief sample of audio being played. It creates an acoustic fingerprint based on the sample and compares it against a central database for a match. If it finds a match, it sends information such as the artist, song title, and album back to the user. Some implementations of Shazam incorporate relevant links to services such as iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, or Groove Music. In December 2013, Shazam was one of the top ten most popular apps in the world, according to its CEO. In October 2014, Shazam announced its technology has been used to identify 15 billion songs.

REASEARCH - HISTORY OF BROOKLYN - MADE IN BROOKLYN
In early 20th century, A vast expansion in the population and urbanization of Brooklyn. Each expansion opened new areas for settlement and development. By 1880, Brooklyn had evolved into one of the leading producers of manufactured goods in the nation. By the 20 century , Brooklyn was an industrial giant that turned out everything from warships to bubble gum. The diversity of the community also form a booming development of American Folk Art which express cultural identity by conveying shared community values and atheistic. Folk art as a reflection of historical, social, and artistic context of American culture, from eighteen century to the present. From compelling portraits, and dazzling quilt to powerful works by self-taught artists in a variety mediums.
ART INSPIRATION
CONCEPT MODEL / SKETCHES
Quilt Concept Diagram: The basic notion of weaving- of interlacing two sets of threads to form a web- are everywhere the same. Up and down went the harnesses, left to right and back again slid the shuttles, its soft thud and the clatter. Of the thread striking the only notes in the rhythm of the weaver. Different layers represent different culture and historical context, demonstrate the hybrid nature and culture. Use weaving as a conceptual formal language to provide a web space that offer the community new possibilities and old satisfactions - a return to individuality, a chance to handwork, an escape from impersonality. To creative more interactivity with learning and making programs during the linear narrative circulation in the exhibition space which will give the audiences both hands-on experience and theory content, adding unexpected value to the community and society. The up and down, back and forth of the threads become a formal language as a continuous ramp to become a linear narrative into the gallery space.
