By David Stubbings CLICK ON THE LINK TO VIEW: https://youtu.be/HkXWTRbWCrI Measuring 12.5 times bigger than a regular version, the world’s Largest skateboard is big – wheelie big. The Los Angeles-based board was originally created in 2009 for the MTV series Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory and measures 11.15 m long by 2.64 m wide and 1.10 m tall. It now has its place in Guinness World Records 2019 in the Meet the Makers chapter which celebrates record holders who embrace the spirit of the "Maker Movement" - inventors, artists, hobbyists and DIY-ers behind supersized or super-fast creations. Joe Ciaglia, director of California Skateparks, was the other half of the partnership behind it and said he wanted to recreate Rob’s regular board meaning it has seven layers of wood forming the deck, is the exact same shape and has identical decor underneath. "The hardest part was not having any directions or blueprints," he explained. "We just started and figured it out as we progressed. The process took us about 10 weeks, a lot of things were trial and error." Given its size some features had to be slightly different ; the wheels feature racing car tyres and the board also has a supporting steel frame. The size of the board inevitably attracts attention; visitors have come from as far away as Brazil, China and Japan while it’s also been taken around the US. "One time in New York we were driving out of Time Square and a police officer pulled me over. I thought I had done something wrong and then he said 'can I get on your board?'. So he literally pulled me over to take a picture on the skateboard!" Plenty of people have ridden the board and Joe one time had a go by himself down a hill at a camp in Pennsylvania. "It started going a little left, I tried to jump right but the board didn’t move. Started hitting speeds of 30-35 mph and there was a big dirt hill coming. "I had no choice but to bail. Fortunately, I didn’t get hurt too bad." "The skateboard got launched into the air and we had a little damage. The kingpin broke but we were able to repair it. I was more concerned about what was happening to the board than myself." As one of the stars of Guinness World Records 2019's Meet the Makers section, Joe has advice for others wanting to attempt similar challenges. "It was overwhelming [when the board was complete]. I had the biggest smile on my face. Me and Rob were doing handstands on top of it, we were so excited. "Being a maker is amazing. Growing up in life I always looked forward to being a Guinness World Records title holder but not having the physical talent to pull something off has given me this great opportunity to be a maker. It’s been fun. I would recommend anyone out there who has ideas to just try. Who knows you might by the next record holder."

So kom kuier my skoonouers op Oshakati. Ek gaan koop dadelik 4 nuwe afdrooglappe voor hulle arriveer, vra die dametjie agter die kasregister my: "Is daar 'n spesiale geleentheid by julle de Villierse"? Ek vra haar so ewe onskuldig: "Hoekom"? Rika

A father and his 10-year-old son undertook an epic journey or a good cause that wrapped up this weekend in New York City's Coney Island. James Potvin and his father Chris completed a bike ride Saturday that began in Ontario Aug. 18 in a bid to raise money and awareness for autism. Nearly 650 miles later, they were welcomed to New York's beach boardwalk with open arms. "It was a great ride," Chris Potvin told CBS New York. "It was so much time on the road, but it was a lot of fun and we felt like we did a lot of good for the community." James, who has autism, and his dad raised thousands in a similar but much shorter ride in Canada this time last year.

A friendship between two co-workers in Wisconsin turned into an unexpected family reunion after a man discovered his friend on the job was actually his biological father. Nathan Boos told WLAX-TV he was adopted at birth and never knew who his biological parents were. "Growing up I always knew that I was adopted, it just never crossed my mind that I would ever find my parents,” he said Wednesday. While Boos didn't know who his parents were, his adoptive parents did and just happened to notice recently that Nathan was friends on Facebook with his biological father. Boos said his adoptive mother pointed out that his biological father is a truck driver, just like him. "She just went on my Facebook and went through my friends list and brought up his picture and I said get out of here,” Boos told WLAX. That man was Bob Degaro, who has worked with Nathan at Rock Solid Transport in Chippewa Falls, Wis., for the past two years. "It’s still kind of a shock and there's days I'm not sure exactly what to say or how to act," Degaro said. "I mean, he is my son but we didn't have that father son relationship growing up and then we became working partners before we knew who we really were." Degaro told WLAX the choice to give Nathan up for adoption was a difficult one caused by financial stress, and that he has two other children with his ex-wife. "Back then I wasn't much of a dad," he told the television station. "His biological mom had chosen the adoptive parents because they were somewhat related, distant cousins, I believe, but I didn't know that." The newfound father and son duo are now working to grow their new friendship, and Bob is planning to attend Nate's upcoming wedding.

A more up-close view of the star-studded Raptor. Remember the Ford Raptor S that could pass as the most luxurious truck ever built? Here’s a closer look at it by Youtube’s SeenThruGlass. Now, if you’ve loved it in the previous story, you’ll love it even more when driven on the road. By combining plush and monstrosity in a vehicle, this Raptor S is an anomaly to truck culture, or better yet, it’s an oxymoron on four humongous 20 inchers. I might have spoken too soon when I said that the Defco F-350 Mega Raptor makes all other Raptors look cute. This is the ultimate Raptor…yet. For the uninitiated, this bespoke project is made by Galpin Auto Sports, 1221 Wheels, and Salomondrin. It’s a custom-built F-150 Raptor, in which the opulence of the interior is indirectly proportional to the ruggedness outside. The way this pickup truck has been built should be made illegal. There should really be someone regulating these kinds of build. Kidding aside, though, the Ford Raptor S is a definite eye-candy. Its black exterior with red accents looks sinister, while the 20-inch rims by 1221 Wheels are a perfect match. The exterior updates aren’t as extensive as the interior, but nevertheless, it’s still one of the best out there. The fun resides in the Ford Raptor S’ cabin. STG described it as something that’s as luxurious as a Mercedes, and we’ll take his word for it. Besides, have you seen the starlight headliner? Yes, it has that – the kind of opulence is commonly seen in Rolls-Royce cars. It also has a sizable 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Alcantara upgrades, and white leather upholstery with climatecontrolled massagers. Crazy, right? The customization doesn’t end in aesthetics. The engine has been dialed up, too, adding 102 horsepower (76 kilowatts) and 150 pound-feet (203 Newton-meters) of torque. With a truck this powerful and plush at the same time, who needs supercars?

Quick sand is a fascinating substance, make some of your own and experiment on a safe scale. Amaze your friends by demonstrating how it works. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: • 1 cup of maize cornflour • Half a cup of water • A large plastic container • A spoon INSTRUCTIONS: 1. This one is simple, just mix the cornflour and water thoroughly in the container to make your own instant quick sand. 2. When showing other people how it works, stir slowly and drip the quick sand to show it is a liquid. 3. Stirring it quickly will make it hard and allow you to punch or poke it quickly (this works better if you do it fast rather than hard). 4. Remember that quick sand is messy, try to play with it outside and don’t forget to stir just before you use it. 5. Always stir instant quicksand just before you use it! WHAT’S HAPPENING? If you add just the right amount of water to cornflour it becomes very thick when you stir it quickly. This happens because the cornflour grains are mixed up and can’t slide over each other due to the lack of water between them. Stirring slowly allows more water between the cornflour grains, letting them slide over each other much easier. Poking it quickly has the same effect, making the substance very hard. If you poke it slowly it doesn’t mix up the mixture in the same way, leaving it runny. It works in much the same way as real quick sand.

Rapi Ananda Pamungkas, a 2-year-old boy in Indonesia, became the target of controversy on social media after video of him puffing away was posted online. His mother, Maryati, said he pitches a fit if he isn't allowed to light up, telling Caters News Agency she would relent and buy him smokes to keep him from throwing a tantrum. Health official recently visited the woman and told her she must get her son to stop cold turkey. "The health department told me it can't go on, but how can I change what he likes?" she said. "When I'm working he walks alone and finds them on the street." The mom ope-rates a stall in West Java and when she's busy, Rapi wanders around the market, picking up cigarette butts, she said. Nonetheless, she said, she has been able to get him to cut down and to pay more attention to childlike activities, such as playing with his toys. Indonesia has one of the highest rates of smoking in the world and a longstanding problem of children smoking, with an estimated 9 percent of those under 18 constituting regular smokers. 13

Every Southern cook has his or her favorite tools and appliances, and many swear by high-end brands for their beloved cast iron skillets and casserole dishes. But one of the cheapest kitchen accessories all cooks agree on? Aluminum foil. We’d be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge it as one of the hardest working tools in our arsenal. And if you use aluminum foil as often as we do, you have probably noticed that one side of the foil is shinier than the other. Maybe you see the shiny side as the “right” or “top” one and always have it facing up. Or, if you’re often writing labels or cooking instructions on aluminum-foil-covered baking dishes, perhaps you prefer the duller side for that. Have you ever thought about why the two sides have different finishes, though? Luckily, Reynolds Wrap is letting us in on their little secret. As it turns out, the different appearances of each side of aluminum foil are simply a result of how it’s manufactured. There’s no coating or anything, and as Reynolds Wrap points out, the performance of the foil is the same on both sides. In the factory, the sheets of foil are produced using a process called milling, which heats and stretches the aluminum into the thin layers we buy in store. According to the Reynolds Kitchens website: “We mill two layers in contact with each other at the same time, because if we didn’t, the foil would break during the milling process. Where the foil is in contact with another layer, that’s the ‘dull’ side. The ‘shiny’ side is the side milled without being in contact with another sheet of metal.” Well there you have it. Should it ever come up, you can cleverly settle any disagreement over which side is the right one to use. If only every cooking debate were solved so easily.

Your dog is as smart as a 2-year-old toddler. Dogs and cats both slurp water the same way. Your dog does have a sense of time — and misses you when you’re gone. Your dog’s whiskers help him “see” in the dark. Dogs only have sweat glands in their paws. On average, a dog’s mouth exerts 320 pounds of pressure. Your one year-old pup is as physically mature as a 15-year-old human. Your dog’s sense of smell is 1,000 to 10 million times better than yours. Dogs can hear 4 times as far as humans. Your dog can smell your feelings.
