Eco extendsrange

Following the success of Nature’s Diary birth month range, Cherry Orchard Publishing has extended the range with 28 new open designs. This new launch focuses on individual animals such as squirrels, badgers, foxes, puffins and looks at a range of animals in their habitat such as farmland, woodland and the shoreline. Continuing with the range’s eco credentials, the cards are printed on FSC board using a carbon neutral press and come with an eco kraft envelope. Cherry Orchard is celebrating the launch of the new range with an exciting point of sale kit, which is free with every presell order placed.

Paperlink protects forests

Through a partnership with the World Land Trust, Paperlink is working to save endangered forests around the globe. So far this year, the company has supported the World Land Trust to protect 6,318 sqm of critically threatened tropical forests.

Every card Paperlink creates is 100% recyclable, ethically sourced, sustainably produced and FSC accredited. Over 99% of Paperlink’s designs are now available clasped, offering an eco-friendly alternative to cello-wrapping. Paperlink’s use of Carbon Balanced Paper, has balanced the equivalent of over 33,000kg of carbon dioxide this year alone.

“The card industry is here to help people celebrate, and it’s our responsibility to make sure they can do that guilt free and with a clear conscience,” said MD Emma Young.

Quilling Card plays fair

Qulling Card places great importance on ensuring the highest quality work environment in its workshops across Vietnam while providing employees with ample benefits and wages, says co-founder and CEO Huong Nguyen Wolf: ‘’Currently, we pay a salary 25% above the national average and provide a benefits package that includes six months of paid maternity leave. Being a Fair-Trade Federation Member helps to reassure our consumers that they are buying a handmade product free from any negative stigmas commonly associated with products made overseas. We are proud to say that we are the only quilling manufacturer who prioritises conducting an annual third-party audit for social compliance.’’

The company also ensures that all its paper is FSC certified and is actively in the process of transitioning to be completely plastic free using compostable/biodegradable alternatives for packaging and displays.

Keeping shows green

Environmental stewardship lies at the heart of Rachel Hudson Illustration, known for its eyecatching and evocative art cards for nature lovers. For its debut at Springboard PG Live this June (stand 744), all exhibition materials will showcase sustainable materials. Each display board will be crafted from eco-responsible paper-based hexacomb board, printed by an award-winning sustainable print centre, local to the business in Hampshire.

While all greetings cards on display are made in the UK using FSC certified board, on the reverse of each card, buyers can discover fascinating facts about the wildlife or wild place illustrated on the front. Whether Coastal & Seaward, Wayside & Woodland, Winterscapes, Oddities & Rarities or 3D Birdshapes, these greeting cards aim to delight, inspire and inform.

Rachel Hudson Illustration hopes to show how it’s possible to celebrate and champion our natural environment while also treading lightly on our planet.
