with Joie

Travel systems have been a key search term for many years now, offering parents great value for money on those most essential of newborn items. Joie’s Head of Product Management, Damon Marriott takes a look at what makes the Travel System such a hit with consumers. The value travel system can find its roots with Graco who were among the first to offer a package of this type nearly 20 years ago. Since then, many brands have continued to market various one box solutions, such as the Joie Muze travel system, offering value and convenience to the end consumer. This value package will continue to be a popular option to those who are looking to get the most value for money. With the introduction of R129/I-size travel system packages, launching in readiness for the end of R44, even the most budget travel system will be brought up to the highest safety standards. Increasing in popularity are the modular 2in1 / 3in1 prams, such as the Joie Versatrax and we are seeing demand for similar systems continuing to grow. Consumers are equally as interested in style as they

are value for money and Joie is not alone in offering solutions that cater for all budgets with the launch of the Signature range offering a higher price point option. Within this modular category of travel system capable items, the simple addition of car seat adaptors to the bare pram chassis allows various infant carriers to be used for extra convenience, as the seat/carrycot are left either at home or in the boot of the car, allowing for a smaller and more portable travel system than the all-in-one value travel system packages. This also applies to the light weight and compact pushchairs like the Joie tourist, where one handed folding allows for the perfect partner when used as the travel system, as carrying the infant carrier and the wheeled element can be difficult with some

2in1/3in1 prams units being large when folded. Bundles within the modular 2in1 pram category continue to prove popular, allowing for the carrycot and infant carrier to be offered together with the pram, removing some of the confusion for the new parent, as they know all will interconnect with ease. The bundle option also allows the consumer to pick and choose the infant carrier that best suits their lifestyle – such as the Joie i-snug for maximum portability due to low weight or the i-Level for the long journey parents. Combined with the option of extended bundles adding in either belted install bases or the full feature ISOFIX seat, further extends the bundle thus reducing the need for the parent to worry about what else they need to buy for their new arrival.
