he leading name in home entertaining, Lenox is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year as the longest-standing American fine china company. Founded in 1889 in New Jersey by Walter Scott Lenox, Lenox has since become known for its commitment to quality and design, its classic American styling and its expertise at bringing products to market that are relevant to consumers’ changing personalities and lifestyles. Little wonder then that Lenox has quite literally become an American Classic… a market leader in the United States of fine china, casual dinnerware, crystal stemware and 18/10 stainless flatware. From everyday and intimate gatherings to pull-out-all-the-stops formal gala occasions, Lenox offers the widest range of products that are relevant to the way people entertain today. Not only is Lenox the only American brand to have built a 125-year history of trust with generations of consumers – they offer unrivalled artistry and superior craftsmanship – but it is the only manufacturer of fine bone china in the United States, with all of its formal dinnerware made in the USA, in its plant in North Carolina, by talented American artisans. Committed to upholding the high standards of excellence in design, artistry and craftsmanship set forth in 1889 by its founder, Lenox uses only the finest materials, including accents of 24-kt gold and precious platinum, and production

techniques to create its formal bone china. Attention-to-detail, for which Lenox is renowned, is equally important, with the company’s manufacturing facility boasting tremendous expertise in hand-applying detailed decals, hand-banding the rims in precious gold or platinum and hand-applying small enamel dots, which add a rich texture to its stunning designs. So stunning in fact are Lenox products that a number of them have graced the table of the White House. Lenox holds the distinction of creating the first American china to be used in the White House in 1918 for President Woodrow Wilson. Since then, Lenox has produced state services for Presidents Roosevelt, Truman, Reagan, Clinton and Bush, as well as china for the vice presidential official residence, over 300 embassies and more than half the governor mansions. That’s not all. For the past 20 years, Lenox has been commissioned to design the inaugural gift from the American people to the incoming president. Lenox boasts a rich history of beautifully designed dinnerware patterns that are highly functional and versatile. And while the company’s original focus was on dishwasher-safe fine dinnerware, it expanded to include microwaveable casual lifestyle collections, as well as crystal stemware, stainless flatware, Christmas ornaments and bridal giftware. In fact, it was the first American company to do just this. In response to customers who wanted a fully co-ordinated look,
