I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. Mark 11:24 (NLT)

PRAYER – Secret to Success
Nehemiah responded to God’s call and rallied the people together by declaring: “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” Nehemiah 2:17b (NIV) That call galvanised the people and they did the project with their whole heart, hands and gut. Yet, throughout the entire building project, Nehemiah encountered multiple obstacles – intimidation, mockery, exhaustion, and fear, just to name a few. Nonetheless, Nehemiah overcame these adversaries and rebuilt the wall in 52 days (Nehemiah 6:15). Soon after, worship and reading of God’s word restarted. The secret to Nehemiah’s success was PRAYER! Nehemiah prayed and interceded for the people. “Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.” Nehemiah 1:11 (NIV) As you thumb through this issue of PrayerConnect, do pray for God’s favour in all our seven mission fields. Testimony
100% Pass! All glory to God! Our Grade 9 students of Methodist School of Cambodia (MSC) managed to secure a 100% pass for the government’s National Examination (similar to Singapore’s ‘O’ Level). It was a year of hard work paid off with the excellent results from the students. The academic year started in October 2014 with the students preparing for their examination. Although the students knew that it is a crucial year for them, a handful did not put in effort and did badly for the first semester (mid-year) examinations. That was a wake-up call to those students.
The students were reminded that if they did not pull their socks and do well in their second semester (final) examinations, they would not be allowed to sit for the Grade 9 National Examination. This is a law from Ministry of Education Youth and Sports (MOEYS). With that understanding, they hit the books, put in the effort to study hard, and did well for their second semester examinations. The students themselves requested for remedial classes to prepare for the examinations. It was wonderful to see them taking responsibility for their own studies and wanting to do well. We thank the dedication of the teachers who put in the extra effort in guiding, encouraging, counselling and teaching them. It was truly the love for the students from the teachers that we were able to see the students do well in their studies. Thank you for your support and prayer for the school, teachers and students. Truly the students have indeed kept to the motto of the school - “Rise and Shine” for God. All glory to God!
