to your first fall semester as a student at Lesley University! I am so excited about you being here and I just want to share a little advice from me and the Orientation Leaders you met this summer. When we met over the summer during orientation, I was so happy that you decided to join the Lesley’s family. At Lesley University, you will have a great college experience. We also know that college is a big step and financial investment that will involves the entire family; should you have any questions or you just need to talk, please stop by my office located in the student center. The five pieces of advice I would like to share are listed below. 1. Self-care is extremely important. If you are stressed, feeling a little overwhelmed, tired, or you cannot focus, take a break and take care of yourself. 2 Family and Friends- Schedule time to call, email, or text your family and friends while you are away at school. It is important that you stay in contact with them as well. 3 Take naps – Sleep cannot be overemphasized. Preschool and college are the only times when napping is socially acceptable. 4. Join a club or student organization can be a great way to get involved and actively participate in your college experience. There are several student organizations, clubs or sport teams you can check out to fulfill this college experience. 5. It is never too early to network, plan to study abroad, or secure an internship for the following semester. The world is in your hands! On the next several pages, the Orientation Leaders will share why Lesley University is this amazing place you will call home for the next four years. College is a big step but we will be here every step of your journey. ---Felecia B.
