Cuiabá is the capital city of Mato Grosso, in Brazil. It is located in the exact centre of South America and forms the metropolitan area of the state, along with the neighbouring town of Várzea Grande. The city is a rich mix of European, African and native American influences and numerous museums reflect this. Cuiabá is also notable for its cuisine, dance, music and craftwork. Cuiabá is one of the host cities of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The town sits in a transition zone between three of the most characteristic Brazilian ecosystems: Amazonia, Cerrado and Pantanal. It is also close to the mountain range known as Chapada dos Guimarães (which blocks polar masses and causes the extremely hot weather). The fame of Cuiabá is to be as hot as it’s warm people.

THE PROJECT Looking for an environment of inclusive education through actions of culture, information and fun, the Project Gira Mundo enables the Third Sector organizations that work with children and young people promote an environment of discussion about global issues. The themes of the Project Gira Mundo are: entrepreneurship, human rights, sustainability, awareness about drugs and cultural diversity.

TARGET AUDIENCE With this project, we have the objective of achieving children and young people with estricted access to a quality education, through developments and other aid to organizations that work with activities of educational support. The themes are chosen to address issues relevant to the youth of our country today and promote a greater vision of the world to the target audience that will be participating in the activities.


SMARKETING PROJECT

The project is part of the Global Citizen Third Sector National Programme, aims to provide NGOs the opportunity to position and promote their services to the society through potential international talent. University students from different countries with academic backgrounds in communications and marketing conduct a study on the organization, with their product and their market, charting and implementing actions to brand awareness , achievement of target audience and fundraising with the goal to promote the growth of organization and its positioning in the city. THEMATIC - The project goal is to improve communication of Third Sector organizations through: - Marketing Plans - construction of visual identity - organization and management of website and social media - fundraising events - dissemination and positioning the product / service in the city.


MOZAIKO PROJECT

Mozaiko Project, which is part of the Global Citizen Third Sector Portfolio, seeks to bring exchange students to act directly in the identification of bottlenecks in the management of nonprofit organizations and their mapping key processes acting directly evident that the common need several third sector entities through the provision of consulting services. Mozaiko is an organizational project, it seeks to structure the NGO in 4 differents fronts. The intern will be responsible to help the NGO with the marketing, accounting, administration and infrastructure.

Chapada dos Guimarães Chapada is a brazilian word that means a region of steep cliffs, usually at the edge of a plateau. Chapada dos Guimarães is a beautiful city with a lot of waterfalls and nature, has it’s economy based in tourism, and it’s only 1 hour far from Cuiabá.

The Pantanal is a rich and diverse mixture of wetlands, grasslands and forest affording greater wildlife viewing opportunities. The Pantanal is the world’s largest tropical wetland, and has the greatest concentration of wildlife in the Americas.

Nobres is a city in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. It is located approximately 140 kilometers from Cuiabá. Tourists are encouraged to visit the region for its beautiful waterways and limestone caves.

#1 What should I do in case of have problems with my host? Firstly, keep calm and always be honest with the Local Commite that you are, check if it is not a simple diference from cultures between you and the host. Then, talk with the AIESEC and see what you both can do to solve this problem, if it is really necessary to change the host or not. #2 Will I have a buddy to teach me how to go to NGO, to use the bus or what are the best sightseeings tours to visit? Yes, AIESEC Cuiabá provide you a buddy who will teach you those things and help you anything you need. #3 Does the cost of life in Cuiabá is high? No, here we have cheap restaurants with a really good food. The bus ticket cost around U$1,2 (one dolar and twenty cents) and the sightseeings have an accessible price for everyone. #4 How is the weather in Cuiabá? Cuiabá has a tropical savanna climate with dry winters. The city is known for its searing heat, although temperatures in winter can sometimes reach 10 °C (50 °F).
