Growth . . . Introduces The 1969 Pioneer

The familiar sight of Student Senate President Neil Barr and young Terry reminds us that the purpose of Christian education is growthgrowth which affects every area of our lives 1969 has seen growth on the LeTourneau College campus as new professors and new facilities have enhanced existing programs. Future growth is insured by additional faculty members and the prospect of the new cafeteria and men's dormitory and a new graphics laboratory building for next year. Enlarged curricula will improve upon well-established programs

1969 saw Mr. LeTourneaufeted by Longview as "Industrial Statesman," and Mrs LeTourneau named as "American Mother of the Year." Mr R G/s homegoing on June 1 marked the end of a victorious life of service to God and man Messages poured in from all parts of the world as this giant among men was honored

Growth requires a pattern. Building on the foundation laid by Mom and Pop LeTourneau, our college renews its commitment to its unique philosophy of Christian education and to Christ as the standard by which any educated Christian must measure his growth.

And Jesus Increased in Wisdom and Qtature, And in Favor With God and Man. Luke 2:52

Preside/if LeTourneau Heads Board

Richard H LeTourneau has served as president of LeTourneau College since 1962 Under his leadership the college has made significant advances New buildings have appeared in place of the old barracks, and extensive improvements have been made in laboratory and library facilities New dormitories have been built to supplement the renovation of the older residence halls

Spiritual and academic growth have kept pace with the physical. Co-education and the liberal arts have added a new dimension to the campus Climaxing the growth of the school has been the substantial increase in the student body

Increased pressures of the presidency of R G LeTourneau, Inc., led him to relinquish the college presidency in 1968

The governing board of the college is made up of men and women from all walks of life Pastors, evangelists, publishers, educators, business and professional people comprise the group which directs the policies and plans of the school Their foremost desire is "that the world may know."

Alpha Omega

Alpha Omega is a brotherhood united steadfast toward a single goal, that of building Christ centered men for a confused and lost world A brotherhood of friendships that will go on through eternity A group, united with bonds of love, but most of all with a mutual love for Christ Men, steadfast, in the belief that all we do, be it study or sports, should be done with an enthusiasm that only a Christian can have. Believing that, "Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men." Col. 3:23.
