SUMMER! Designed by Siân Brown, this colourful take on the classic T-shirt is a great beginner's garment. It's worked mostly in stocking stitch with a bold stripe pattern. This design is really easy to customise, why not opt for fewer shades in wider stripes, or a central coloured band? You may want to practise the edging before you begin to ensure a neat and professional finish.

Teddy bear and panda puppets are reminiscent of a childhood spent watching The Sooty Show for many generations. So to name these two as anything but a variation of Sooty and Soo, from a show that's been running for over sixty years, would be sacrilege. With the show still going strong after all this time, it's doubtful that any child, or even adult, wouldn't appreciate these puppets to play with. WHAT’S IN
Mins with... Stefanie Japel, Knitting Class Organiser, Craftsy.com
I have been a crafter all of my life - crafting is part of who I am. I am very interested in the history of it, learning about how different crafts like knitting evolved from a necessity into a hobby. At Craftsy I plan and produce all of the knitting classes. We've been in business for two years and we just had our anniversary party! Our classes are all held online, which has been really popular. Craftsy allows students to take the class in their own time and at their own pace, but they're also interactive, so when a student asks a question, the instructor answers. This takes place in a virtual classroom setting, so that all of the students can benefit from the answer. Classes also never expire - you can keep the class as a reference forever. We are also able to bring students together with instructors that they might not have a chance to see locally in a really fun community setting. I am a knitter and right now I have several projects on the needles. Stephen West's Rockefeller shawl is the one that I'm putting most time into at the moment. I have also just finished a quilt for each of my daughters. My dream project changes from day to day, but I'd really like to find a class on collecting and using local dye plants. We have some absolutely amazing knitting classes coming up in the not too distant future. I can't wait to share them with everyone! To find out more visit www.craftsy.com
We keep you up-to-date with your favourite knitting shops
