As we prepare to gather with our friends, family, or community members this Independence Day, we want to take a moment to acknowledge that there is a deeper meaning behind the fireworks and barbecues. Each year, we celebrate more than the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in 1776 – we commemorate the bravery and sacrifices of those who so valiantly have served in our nation's military.
May you and your loved ones enjoy this annual reminder of the resilience and unity that defines us as a country. We are thankful for the privilege to support those who serve our country and protect the freedoms of our extraordinary nation.
On behalf of each team member at Liberty Military Housing, I wish you a happy, healthy, and safe 4th of July.
Gail Miller, Chief Operating Officer, Liberty Military Housing

In today’s world, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s a necessity With climate change looming and resources dwindling, adopting sustainable practices has become more important than ever Fortunately, making eco-friendly choices doesn’t have to be daunting. Here are some simple yet impactful steps you can take to embrace sustainability in your everyday life.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: The classic mantra holds true. Start by reducing your consumption of single-use plastics and packaging Opt for reusable alternatives like water bottles, shopping bags, and containers When possible, choose products made from recycled materials and recycle diligently.
Conserve Energy: Small changes in energy usage can make a big difference. Turn off lights and appliances when not in use, switch to energy-efficient light bulbs, and unplug electronics when fully charged or not in use Consider investing in smart home devices to monitor and optimize your energy usage
Go Plant-Based: Cutting down on meat and dairy consumption can significantly reduce your carbon footprint. Experiment with plant-based meals and incorporate more fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains into your diet. Not only is this better for the environment, but it’s also beneficial for your health
Support Sustainable Brands: Vote with your wallet by supporting companies that prioritize sustainability. Look for certifications like Fair Trade, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Organic, and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) when shopping for food, clothing, and household products. Research brands’ sustainability initiatives and choose those committed to ethical and eco-friendly practices
Embrace Public Transportation: Reduce your carbon emissions by opting for public transportation, carpooling, biking, or walking when possible. If you need a car, consider investing in a fuel-efficient or electric vehicle. You’ll not only save money on gas but also reduce air pollution and traffic congestion.
Conserve Water: Water is a precious resource, so use it wisely Fix leaky faucets, take shorter showers, and install water-saving devices like low-flow toilets and showerheads. Collect rainwater for gardening and landscaping and avoid watering your lawn.
By incorporating these simple practices into your daily routine, you can play a part in preserving our planet for future generations Remember, it’s the collective effort of individuals that drives meaningful change Let’s strive towards a more sustainable and environmentally conscious world – one small step at a time.
