This is an exciting new chapter for our company, Liberty Military Housing. We want to ensure you are the first to receive important updates, as you are and will always be our top priority. In October, we announced our transition to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which necessitated a name change. On November 2nd, Liberty Military Housing Team Members will begin wearing new uniforms. You will also see new signage around our community, and our new website, LiveLMH.com, will be live. This transition will not impact any of your resident services, programs, or events.

Include serving dishes for gravy, dinner rolls, butter, and green beans, plus serving utensils. The Night Before: • Place Yam Casserole in the fridge to thaw. • Prepare Easy Turkey Gravy; store jar or container in fridge. • Thanksgiving Morning: • Remove an oven rack, if necessary. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Roast turkey as directed. Remove from oven and let stand for 30 minutes before carving. • Add pecan topping to yam casserole. 1 hour before dinner: • Increase oven temperature to 350 degrees F. Replace oven rack. Bake the mashed potatoes, the stuffing, and the yam casserole. 30 minutes before dinner: • Wrap dinner rolls in foil. No Waste November By Cathy Hamilton-Wissmer
You’ve heard all about ‘Mo-vember’ – (mustaches unite!) now it’s time to celebrate “No Waste November”. Let’s focus on those things that are recyclable on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Here’s a few tips to get you thinking:
BIN THERE, DO THAT
If you’ve been getting a lot of package delivery boxes lately, or have cardboard left over from your latest move, you may be wondering where it can go. Empty, clean and dry cardboard boxes go into your recycling bin! Remember to flatten them first. If it’s wet, or has greasy stains (like pizza boxes) it becomes garbage. Too many of the wrong things in the recycling tote and it all becomes trash. Too many recyclables to fit in your tote? Check out the off-base options for recycling- there are several within easy driving distance that can take more items than curbside. JBLM Recycling Website has good information for you. Got leftover vegetables? Soup is a good way to clear out the fridge. Don’t be afraid to throw them into a pot and make some warm, comforting soup, scramble, a stir fry, or a curry. Keep random ingredients from going to waste, save money and get more from your food. Cooking oil, fats, and grease are not hazardous but they can clog pipes so don’t pour them down the drain! Collect cooking oil, fats and grease in a container and once cool, toss it all in the garbage. New phone or other electronics? Don’t trash your old one. There are many convenient repair and recycling options that’ll put your old phone to good use, including collection through E-Cycle Washington. Check out the WA Department of Ecology or E-Cycle website for the location closest to you.
How often do you ask yourself what's safe to put in your in recycling bin? Next time you go to throw something away, get creative and think of ways to reduce waste in the first place! Only paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, jugs & jars, aluminum & tin cans can go into your recycling bin.
Be sure to follow Sustainable JBLM on Facebook for additional tips and tricks.
