Gilbert High School athletics director Chap Leaphart presents a check for $1,500 to Melissa Anderson of the South Carolina Oncology Associates Cares Foundation. On April 21, the Lady Indians’ soccer team raised those funds as part

of a “Pink Out” game against Pelion. The Lady Indians won the match 9-0. Head coach Michael Kleinfelder is a 2-time cancer survivor who has striked to give back to research in hopes of helping people who are in a similiar position.

The Kicking Out Cancer T-shirts were designed by junior Hannah Motes whose family has also been helped through the SCOA Cares Foundation.

A dozen published authors will offer personally autographed copies of their books to your Mom for Mother’s Day.
