Why I’ve Loved The Camp Fair For 15 Years
T
his year marks the 15th anniversary of Lexington Family Magazine’s Summer Camps & Activities Fair. And here are the reasons why I love the Fair. Crowds Lexington is not a pedestrian friendly city, and outside of sporting events (UK football, basketball, Keeneland), parades (4th of July) and Christmas at the mall, we rarely gather in big groups. I like rubbing elbows with folks, so the Camp Fair and its 3,500 people streaming through the doors in only four hours suits me fine. Clients Such an impersonal word. The exhibitors at the Fair are our partners, the people who support our mission of connecting Central Kentucky families with the services and products they need. I not only love rubbing elbows with folks, but I’m a big-league talker, so this is a wonderful opportunity for me to get face time with the people I email and phone all year long.

Kids Children of all ages, from those still in a stroller to toddlers and teenagers, drive the excitement of the Camp Fair. Among the many kid-sized pleasures at the Fair, kids love to bounce on jumpies, have their faces painted and win prizes at the booths. Only a Scrooge could resist smiling all day when you watch children having so much fun. Creators As a person of no artistic skill, I marvel at the talented kids who perform at the Fair. Every half hour, spectators gather at the performance area to admire the skill of the dancers, gymnasts, musicians and martial artists who grace the stage each year. Among the admirers, I’m in the front row. So bring on the Camp Fair – Year 15. It should be bigger and better than ever. Hope to see you there. Y

or the fist time since its inception nearly two decades ago, Lexington Family Magazine’s Elder Care Tour will take place in the spring – and on a Saturday. The Elder Care Tour, the 17th annual, has a new date – Saturday, May 13, 1:30-5 p.m. Previously, the Tour was held on Sundays in November. “We wanted to give people a chance to take the Tour when the weather is more pleasant,” Editor John Lynch said. As part of the Tour, the magazine is giving away one Gaylord Opryland Summer Getaway Packages. The prize includes two nights accommodations for two people, and breakfast each morning. To enter to win, merely visit one of the retirement communities that will have an open house for the Tour on Sunday, May 13, 1:30-5 p.m. The Tour not only provides a chance to win these exciting prizes, it’s also an opportunity to educate yourself about housing options for older adults in 17th Annual Elder Care Tour Central Kentucky Sat. May 13, 1:30-5 p.m. in a relaxed, unpressured Info: 223-1765 atmosphere. The Tour is designed for older adults, their adult children and other caregivers. All too often, older adults and Sandwich Generation folks find themselves forced by crisis to make immediate decisions about their own care, the care of a spouse or the care of an aging parent. What if you knew ahead of time what facilities and services were available for yourself or your loved ones? What if you knew where you’d like to retire or where you could go for rehabilitation services? The Tour can provide those answers. Mark your calendar and plan to visit one or more retirement communities on Saturday, May, 13, 1:30-5 p.m. Pick up a copy of the May edition of Lexington Family Magazine for a complete list and map of all the participating retirement communities. My daughter, my Passport case manager, and me. When I told her what happened to my daughter, my case manager got busy. She called around to find someone who could provide my daughter with physical therapy in our home. I’d never heard of a health insurance plan going above and beyond like that. Thanks to her, my little girl has a chance to walk again.

ooking for a family with a busy schedule, picky eaters or on a budget is not an easy task. Wouldn’t it be nice to find a new recipe that has been tested out and given a stamp of approval by actual moms? In April we are launching our “Real Mom Recipes” contest. We are inviting our readers to submit a recipe to share with other moms for the chance to win prizes. The theme for April is “Busy Weeknight Meals.” Type up your best recipe that fits that bill and send it to us. Our judging panel of three working moms will test the recipes and score the dinners based on three points: How healthy the meal is, how easy the preparation is and how it’s received by their kids. The top-scoring recipe will appear in the June issue of Lexington Family Magazine, and the chef will win a prize package valued at $100 from Good Foods Co-Op including:

he “Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Easter Colors” is a perfect Easter basket treat for even the youngest book-lover. Fans of Eric Carle will enjoy his signature illustrations with a spring theme. This board book is a simple color identification lesson, from yellow chicks to white lambs. I would recommend “Easter Colors” for infants all the way through beginning readers. The vibrant illustrations are a good way to discuss colors, animals and seasons with your little ones. “Sweet Dreams Peter” by Frederick Warne is a lovely lullabye book about a beloved Beatrix Potter character, Peter Rabbit. Instead of Peter’s usual mischievous adventures, this book features woodland creatures all being tucked in and sent off to Dreamland. The illustrations are soft and calming and the rhymes have the perfect rolling cadence for a bedtime story. The book is recommended for ages 3 & up, but my 18-month-old enjoyed hearing the book at bedtime. I would extend that recommendation to include toddlers. Lexington Family Magazine has a copy of each book to give away on our Facebook page. Y

echnology has changed the way we communicate. In an instant, we can send messages, video chat, share photos, express opinions, play games, interact with those with similar interests and much more. At the same time our shared words, thoughts, feelings and photos are permanently documented and our control over what happens next is lost. Often, choices made instantaneously, and without much thought, result in unintended consequences that may last a lifetime. It is vital that everyone is aware of the risks associated with online activity. These risks include the impact to our reputation and future; unintentional harm to others; and online behavior that creates vulnerabilities to bullying, exploitation and a variety of crimes. Set Clear Rules Before Child Gets Cell Phone
C
ell phones are here to stay, but when is a good time to give a child a phone of her own? A cell phone provides safety for your child and is a way to keep the two of you connected. But there is a dark side: access to the Internet and social media, constant distraction, decreased concentration, disturbed sleep and addiction. Be sure you have a clear plan before your child gets her first device, because trying to get the horse back in the barn is exponentially more difficult than having a clear set of rules and an agreement from the beginning. When should a child get her own phone? Middle school is reasonable. Flip phones and their counterparts are best for children. Resist the urge to succumb to the herd mentality that “all the other parents let their kids have smart phones.” Think for yourself. If you feel strongly that your child should have a smart phone, “Smarter” Phones are available that allow parents to restrict children’s access to apps and Internet sites. Explore options such as Kurio. Every parent must invest the time to set parental controls. Visit KidsFirstKY’s website and OperationParent’s websites for valuable how-to information. Consider these factors before giving your child a phone: t Have a written agreement about use and boundaries (times and locations) before your child gets a phone. If you need help, sample contracts for cell phone use are available online t Your child must answer any texts and calls from you within 5 minutes unless it is unsafe (driving, when they are older). 14 | www.lexingtonfamily.com
t Keep control. At night, children should turn in their phones to the parents’ room where the chargers are kept. Children can’t retrieve the phone until completely ready for school or another agreed-upon time. t Safety over privacy. You have the right as the owner of the phone to check all texts and any other sites, apps, etc. that your child has access to. This is not a privacy issue, it is a safety issue. t Write “review cell phone usage” on your calendar and do so regularly. It’s also wise to have frequent conversations about sexting, bullying and any other popular misuses of digital media. Any of these are grounds for losing the privilege of having a smart phone for a period of time. Keep communication open and regularly encourage your child to come to you if she is concerned about anything related to her phone. Redwood Cooperative School
Much More Than Child’s Play
School Principles: Play, Progressive Education, Parent Involvement
K
By John Lynch
indergarten nearly destroyed home life for local mom Kari Mullins and her family. A year ago, her son Cooper, an active, talkative, impulsive 5-year-old, was constantly in trouble at school, losing recess time and trudging to the principal’s office. Plus, teachers pulled him out of class because – the family was told – Cooper had fallen so far behind his peers. “And he was only 5 years old,” Mullins said. “He cried all the time and said how much he hated school. We were all feeling so much stress.” Then Mullins met with kindergarten teacher Alison Urs at Redwood Cooperative School, a private, progressive school founded in Lexington in 2014. “I brought Cooper and his report card,” Mullins said. “The teachers told me that Cooper was doing fine. And reminded me that he was only 5. That lifted all the stress for us. I felt like I could breathe again.” A year later, Cooper is repeating kindergarten, only this time with a giant smile creasing his face. Same with the rest of the family. What do they like about Redwood? t Play time: Redwood schedules four recesses a day totaling 90 minutes of outdoor free play. (The school day is 8:15 a.m.-3:15 p.m.) t Individualized instruction: With 38 students in K-third grade, Redwood tailors instruction to meet children where they are. t Affordability: Because parents can choose to work in the classroom, tuition can be as low as $4,410 a year. “Cooper has thrived at Redwood,” Mullins said. “He’s learning to read and when I come to pick him up from school he often doesn’t want to leave.” It’s the same with all the children at Redwood – which was the goal three years ago when parents from Fayette 18 | www.lexingtonfamily.com
Cooperating Preschool founded Redwood, with eight students, in the basement of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church. Each year, the school has added a grade and boosted enrollment – 21 in 2015 and 38 this year. The school has three full-time teachers and one assistant plus instructors for science, art, music and Japanese (a daily lesson at Redwood). Redwood will add fourth and fifth grade in the next two years and then evaluate from there.
And here’s the big news: Redwood gets its own campus next year, leasing property at 166 Crestwood Drive that formerly housed Community Montessori School. Redwood has quickly outgrown the church basement and will start the new school year with nine classrooms, a dedicated music room, a gym (Redwood is adding a P.E. teacher next year) and room to develop outdoor classrooms. “We’re bursting at the seams here and now we have the ability to build capacity,” said Sarah Cummins, the school’s interim director. Redwood is founded on two principles – progressive education and parent involvement. Although some parents can pay extra in lieu of working in the
classroom, most parents enjoy their classroom “work” time. Up to 14 times a year, a parent will work in her child’s classroom, assisting all the students and the teacher. “I love seeing what my children are working on,” said Leah Endicott, the Redwood board president who has two children enrolled. “I also love getting to know all of my children’s classmates and seeing the teachers on a different level.” Like many Redwood parents, Endicott appreciates that she too is learning from the teachers. “This has totally changed how I parent my children,” Endicott said. “I see the respect the teachers have for children and pick up on the language they use with the children. “That started at Fayette Coop with the preschool. Coop is a magical place.” Redwood is creating its own magic. The school features hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities in multi-age classrooms where connecting children to nature is emphasized. “With progressive education we don’t fit kids into a box,” Cummins said. “We focus on the whole child – cognitive, social, emotional and moral.” Cummins is a certified environmental educator who also works as a program director at the progressive Virginia Chance School in Louisville. She has a third grader at Redwood. “We understand educational benchmarks and target those goals with our curriculum,” she said. “We also understand that children have to be not only respected but valued. “Because our curriculum is inquirybased, students come up with the problems and then seek out the answers.” Plus, parents participate in all aspects of the school. “With parent involvement, there is a genuine partnership between home and school,” Cummins said. “That makes this a real family school.” Y

Curious Edge
Offers Middle School Scholarships
A
s the school has in the past, The Lexington School will grant two scholarships worth up to $75,000 each to a disadvantaged boy and girl entering the sixth grade. The scholarships will cover all expenses including materials, fees, after school care and school trips during the student’s time in middle school. To be eligible, students must qualify for free or reduced lunch, be academically promising, and possess qualities of high integrity and a strong work ethic. The scholarship deadline is Monday, April 10. The hope is for recipients to reach their full intellectual potential in order to succeed and be productive members of a compassionate society. In 2011, Pat Madden of Hamburg Place Development set out to form a merit-based scholarship for middle school boys of low-income Kentucky families, called the Bluegrass Boys Scholarship. Madden felt strongly that, “a great education is the difference for these boys,
and there’s no doubt The Lexington School provides that. “We knew it could change their course in the most positive way.” Moved by the immediate success of the boys’ scholarship program, Craig and Holly Bandoroff of Denali Stud horse farm, along with their children Katherine, Conrad and Isabelle, jumped on board with The Bandoroff Family Scholarship for Girls. This was the first in a series of girls’ scholarships now under one name: Pin Oak Scholarship for Girls. “The Lexington School needed a scholarship for girls, so we talked about it as a family, stepped up and made it happen,” Craig Bandorff said. “We’re so happy to have started something that will sustain for years to come and make a difference one girl at a time.” Info: 278-0501 or vdaugherty@ thelexingtonschool.org or www.thelexingtonschool. org/page/admission/middleschool-scholarships Y

Child With Dyslexia Found Self-Esteem Through Sports
T
By Dana Stefaniak
he world lost a sports legend with the passing of Muhammad Ali. I knew of his many accomplishments in the ring, but I had not realized he was dyslexic like my son Andrew. “As a high school student, many of my teachers labeled me as dumb,” Ali was quoted as saying. “I was lucky I had enough belief and self-esteem to carry me to greatness in other ways.” When I read this quote it was like a kick Dana Stefaniak in my stomach. It was my son Andrew. From the time he could pick up a ball Andrew was kicking, tossing and throwing with great skill. He loved playing sports and I began to realize it was his safe place, that place where he was in control and felt accomplished. It came to him easily, unlike his studies at school. His family, friends and teachers were always quick with a compliment about his latest games and he would beam with pride. The self-esteem Andrew possessed in his sports was very different from the frustration and lack of confidence he experienced with his academics. Despite the countless hours Andrew spent trying to learn to read, prepare for tests or write papers, it was always a struggle. His dyslexia (which wasn’t diagnosed until he was 15) was preventing him from believing in himself in the classroom. Now that Andrew has been diagnosed and is receiving intervention services through The Curious Edge he is building his academic confidence. While I am deeply grateful for this positive change, I will always be thankful that he had an area in his life where he felt accomplished. Sports were his saving grace when he was battling not having a dyslexia diagnosis. Studies suggest accomplished athletes with dyslexia benefit from the compensatory skills they have honed while learning to navigate living with dyslexia. Visualization, spatial awareness, creativity and memory are highly evolved skill sets commonly found in people with dyslexia. Although there is little scientific proof to support the theory that dyslexia is an advantage in sports, the anecdotal stories are plentiful. In Andrew’s case, I simply know he found his confidence on the ballfield and in the hockey rink and it was a blessing. Info: (859) 899-3343 (EDGE) or http://thecuriousedge.com. Y

World Class Education Four Years of School in The Philippines Opened Young Girl’s Eyes
By Katherine Dicello
I
would describe myself as a Kentuckian, born in Lexington, a senior at Henry Clay High and headed for UK next year. Yet, when I reflect on my childhood my thoughts roam to Cebu, Philippines. Contrary to my classmates’ beliefs, the Philippines are not part of Philadelphia. In fact, they are a collection of islands in Asia – Cebu being one of the main four. Moving to the Philippines had been easy. I was only 9 and the cultural shock hit my parents much harder than me. Still, when I returned to America, I felt like an outlier. It wasn’t American culture that rocked me – I had spent the first nine years of my life here and visited often from Cebu – I struggled to adjust to the Kentucky education system. During my four years abroad, I spent grades fourth through seventh in a private, international school before returning to Kentucky and enrolling at Hayes Middle School. Teachers and students at Hayes all seemed the same and shared the same worldview. Not so at Cebu International School. Walking the halls of CIS, I encountered students and teachers from Germany, Egypt, Spain, England, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines and especially Korea. (Wealthy Korean parents send their children – with nannies as guardians – to the Philippines to learn English.) Class discussions regularly revealed astonishing anecdotes, underlining the stark differences between my world and that of my classmates. My fifth grade teacher was a Filipina who recounted a World War II story during history class. Her family painted the Rising Sun flag on their roof so Japanese pilots would not bomb them. 24 | www.lexingtonfamily.com
Not surprisingly, stories like these enhanced my perspective. Because I was lucky enough to study abroad, I accept and sympathize readily with those different from me. CIS not only exposed me to different cultures, it gave me a rigorous education. At CIS, teachers demand the same work ethic from sixth graders as they do seniors. Since Cebu is in Asia, we students were expected to respect our elders and finish our schoolwork correctly, the first time, without complaint. Teacher expectations heightened classroom difficulty. College-like lectures began when I was in sixth grade. Homework consisted of writing essays and finishing projects at home. (I favor that to filling in worksheets and reading textbooks.) The schoolwork I am most of proud from CIS? The projects. In sixth grade, our math class built a scale model of world attractions out of recyclable materials. My group tackled the Taj Mahal. The finished product was kind of awesome, if I say so myself. In seventh grade music class, we produced a music video of Justin Bieber’s “Back Down to Earth” that could surpass the real one. As memorable as the CIS class projects were, nothing rivaled the field trips. Every year my whole grade took a weeklong trip to one of the islands – the trip was called Philippines Week. Though teachers filled the first two
days with museum and historical site tours, the rest of the week consisted of interactive team-building activities and hitting the tourist spots such as visiting amusement parks, hiking up mountains and marveling at waterfalls. We also visited local, impoverished schools – an eye-opening experience that sticks with me to this day. I remember painting walls (many, many walls) at these schools. Filipino schools routinely consist of one large room, invariably painted pale blue. Surrounding most structures sit three-foot high cement walls topped with broken glass or spikes. Prior to our visit, my classmates and I spent time putting together gift bags filled with school supplies, while the teachers arranged lunch for everyone. After lunch, we began painting. Sometimes murals would pop up. Other times we simply painted the wall a new, brighter color. We visited these local schools so we could leave students with new supplies, full bellies and a more attractive school. I find myself missing the Philippines regularly. What I learned there has shaped the largest part of who I am. Initially, I resented Lexmark for moving my family halfway across the globe. Now, I am grateful for my time in the Philippines, an experience that no 9-yearold could have imagined.

SUMMER CAMPS I 2017
Summer Camp Lets Kids Find Their Own Way By Katie Saltz eing an involved parent is a good thing. But sometimes stepping aside is the best gift you can give your child. Summer camp is the perfect time to do just that. Summer camps provide kids with more than just social engagement and fun activities. Camps also provide a safe environment where kids can roam and explore new interests. It sounds counter-intuitive to parents to send their children away and not look back. But self-discovery can happen when the parent safety net is removed. Michael Thompson is a clinical psychologist and best-selling author who wrote “Homesick and Happy: How Time Away From Parents Can Help a Child Grow.” Thompson states that parents assume their presence always adds value to a child’s growth, but a temporary absence
B
from parents has developmental benefits for children. “As a parent there are many things you cannot do for you children,” Thompson writes. “You cannot give your child confidence, you cannot pick or manage his or her friendships, you cannot always be his or her advocate/agent/manager/coach. “Most parents cannot get their children to turn off electronics, especially in the summer, and most important, parents have a hard time urging their children to take psychological risks.” At camp, kids belong to a community independent of their families. Conflict resolution and problem solving occur without the intervention of Mom or Dad – and that’s a good thing. Child development professionals agree that camp offers opportunities kids can’t find exclusively at school or home. A camp experience helps kids mature socially, emotionally, intellectually and morally.

“The building blocks of self-esteem are belonging, learning and contributing,” says Michael Popkin, a family therapist and founder of Active Parenting, a parenting education program. “Camps offer unique opportunities for children to succeed in these three vital areas and even beyond home and school,” he said. Parents may worry about separation anxiety, but that anxiety often ends up being more prevalent on the parents end. A child may experience nervousness in the beginning, but navigating new waters at summer camp allows kids to emerge more confident, independent and self-reliant. According to the American Psychological Association, “When children go to summer camp, they experience some of the greatest maturation of their lives, and often return home stronger, healthier and more independent.” Y

The Danger of Swallowed Objects
O
ne of the ways that children explore the world is by putting things in their mouths. And sometimes when they do this, kids accidently swallow something. Although most swallowed objects pass through the child on their own, certain situations arise that need medical attention. The peak age for swallowing foreign objects is between 6 months and 4 years of age. About 40% of ingestions in children are unwitnessed. Less than 1% of children get into serious trouble with this. Fortunately, most objects pass through a child within three days. Still, approximately 1,500 deaths a year in the U.S. are attributed to swallowing something. If a swallowed foreign object lodges in the windpipe, the child may start wheezing, have stridor (a high pitch breath sound), or be unable to speak or cry. If a child cannot breathe or cough, CPR should be initiated (including calling 911).
Smaller objects can make it down into objects, coins that are quarter-sized or the smaller airways before becoming larger, magnets and especially batteries. lodged. Vision Therapy Helps Athletes Too
C
an Vision Therapy improve athletic ability as effectively as it boosts academic performance? For an answer, look no farther than professional athletes Alex Rodriguez and Larry Fitzgerald. Rodriguez, the former Yankee third baseman, has worked on his batting eye with his behavioral optometrist, Don Teig. Fitzgerald, an All-Pro NFL wide receiver, improved his eye-hand coordination with the help of his grandfather, a behavioral optometrist. Vision Therapy is a type of physical therapy for the eyes, brain and body. It is a highly effective non-surgical treatment for many common visual problems such as lazy eye, crossed eyes, double vision and some reading and learning disabilities. For Autumn, It’s All Fun and Games
N
Autumn Herriford SCHOOL: Dunbar High GRADE: 12 SPORTS: Basketball ACADEMICS: Autumn is a straight-A student with a 4.71 weighted GPA. She scored 31 on the ACT, has taken six A.P. classes and is a National Honor Society member. PARENTS: Kelly & Greg
obody on the court has more fun during a basketball game than Dunbar High senior Autumn Herriford. In fact, “court” is too limiting. Nobody in the gym has more fun. During games, Autumn, a 5-foot-11 guard/forward, will talk with officials and even fans. And these are pleasant, relaxed chats that Autumn squeezes in while taking the ball out of bounds or bumping into a ref on the floor. “She’s a character,” her father, Greg, said. “She’s a free spirit, laughing during the game. One of the refs so enjoyed her she volunteered to be a reference for her for college.” Added Coach Nick Runyon: “Autumn’s personality is one of a kind. She is a free flowing spirit with a sense of humor that is unmatched among her peers.” Autumn, 17, smiles and shrugs when she hears these comments. “I guess I’m pretty laid-back,” she said. Which is interesting because she’s also very driven. In the classroom, she is a straight A student… since forever. She has never recorded a lower grade. Her weighted GPA is 4.71, she scored 31 on the ACT and has taken six A.P. classes. She’s a member of the National Honor Society, the National French Honor Society and earned the Booker

T. Washington Mentor Award for her work with elementary students. Active in her church, she has been a camp counselor and joins her youth group on the third Sunday of every month to feed the homeless. The group prepares and dishes out the food in downtown Lexington. Plus, she works up to 30 hours a week (except during basketball season) at Chick-fil-A. “She is independent, self-motivated and has excellent time management skills,” her mother, Kelly, said. And dedicated to basketball. A multitalented player, Autumn finished her high school career with more than 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. She was selected to the All Region and All Region Tournament team this year and was second team All City last year. As a junior, she led Dunbar in rebounds and was named the top defender. As a sophomore, she led the team in assists. Her only flaw as a player? She doesn’t shoot enough. “I’ve never before had to beg a player more to shoot,” Runyon said. In the fall, she’ll take her pass-first mentality to Asbury, an NAIA school. “We share the same core values,” she said. “Be a good student, athlete and a follower of Christ. “The spiritual aspect of the school is huge for me.” Y

ASBURY UNIVERSITY PRESENTS:
EDUCATOR of the Month I
n many classrooms, mistakes are the enemy. Not so in Lerin Parker’s second grade class at Western Elementary in Georgetown, Ky. Mistakes, although not encouraged, are embraced as part of the learning process – what Parker and her colleagues call the growth mindset. Instead of discouraged students concluding that a lesson is too difficult for them (that’s a fixed mindset), students focus on ways to improve. Maybe “ they have to work harder or ask a friend or teacher for extra help. “The point is to build a positive attitude,” Parker said, “where students say to themselves, ‘This might be hard but someone believes in me and I can do this.’” Parker has been instilling confidence in children for 14 years – all at Western. A Scott County native, Parker lives a short drive from the school where her two daughters attend. A farm girl, Parker drove a tractor on her father’s tobacco farm and now lives on 17 acres with cattle and chickens. “I learned the value of hard work growing up on a farm,” Parker said. “And I want my children to appreciate nature.” At Western, Parker taught third grade for two years and then fourth-grade math for 10.
She prefers second grade because she is with the same students all day. “I like it because of the relationships I can build with the kids and their families,” she said. “I feel connected to them by the time my students leave.” Parker has all the requisite attributes that excellent teachers posses. “She is high energy, very enthusiastic, flexible and adaptive to the needs of her students,” Principal Brent Allen said. “She finds creative ways to meet students where they are and goes the extra mile to make sure they succeed. She embodies the growth mindset – always learning, growing and looking for ways to improve.” A Board Certified educator, Parker is fearless about trying new things. When the school started a robotics team, Parker assumed co-coaching duties despite a limited background in engineering. Back in the classroom, Parker emphasizes kindness. She asks students to identify it in themselves and to practice empathy and patience, qualities she models in the classroom. “We get everyone involved and talking,” she said, “They understand we’re not all the same and we learn differently.”
She is high energy, very enthusiastic, flexible and adaptive to the needs of her students.”
