Registration is first come, first served. All participants must register, submit payment and a waiver release in order to be eligible to participate in a program. There is a $10.00 fee for all non-resident program registrations. We accept cash, check, MasterCard, VISA, or Discover for payments.

Can cellat ion Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to recdept@lexingtonma.gov a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of a program or service. A $25.00 processing fee will be incurred for all programs unless otherwise noted. The remaining balance will be in the form of a credit to the household account in which the original registration was made. There are no credits for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the start of a program or service. Credits may be given for medical reasons and would require a physician?s note before credit approval. In the event a program is canceled due to low enrollment or inclement weather (only when a make-up is not available), a full credit will be applied to the household account which is valid for one year from date received.

Fin an cial Aid A request for financial aid is available online, or by calling. Requests are reviewed through a confidential process with the Human Services Department. The amount of scholarship awarded is determined by individual need and available funds in the Recreation & Community Programs Enterprise Fund. Thank you to Fund for Lexington for supporting a portion of our annual scholarship funds.

Pu m p It Up Bask et ball - $220/ session Under the direction of college coach Dan Holbrook and LHS standout Tom Henneberry, Pump It Up teaches sound basketball fundamentals to children who want to improve their skills and develop a better understanding of basketball. Whether you are trying out for a team, wanting to get in better shape, or are playing basketball for the first time, Pump It Up is the perfect program. We cater to all levels of experience. Vik in g Bask et ball Clin ic - $125/ Session Vik in g Kin der gar t en Soccer - $125 This fun soccer clinic, offered by Viking Sports, provides guided instruction for children. Children will learn the basics of soccer and build a foundation for learning future soccer skills, thriving in team play, and in general, athleticism. Participants should bring a soccer ball and shin guards are recommended, but not required. All participants will receive a Viking T-Shirt! Age:

This basketball clinic, offered by Viking Sports, introduces players to the basic skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting. Repetition and overlap with drills is expected to give all players adequate practice with basketball. Emphasis is on fun and learning. Each class will include a modified scrimmage with age-adjusted rules and lower hoops, as necessary. Participants should bring a basketball and water bottle. Archery is an individual sport that provides the opportunity for anyone to do well. The benefits of archery include exercise, mental focus, self-discipline, and social interaction with peers. This program teaches the fundamentals of good form, technique, and how to be safe. Taught by Shawn Bowlby who has 20+ years of experience and has won the national indoor championship 8 times. Your child will be learning from one of the best! Archery equipment is provided and will be sanitized and disinfected after every class. Age: 9-15

Tiny Tykes is an exciting child development program delivered through soccer. Our soccer and child development professionals have designed an innovative curriculum that takes children on ?Immersive Interactive Adventures? through fun and exciting themes. Participants should bring a water bottle. All children will receive a free uniform and soccer ball.

Under the direction of PGA Golf Professional Joe McKinney, participants will have the opportunity to learn new golf skills and practice previously taught skills. Elements of golf that will be covered include driving, irons and wedges, putting, rules of play, and golf course etiquette. Participants are encouraged to bring their own golf clubs as a limited number of rental clubs are available. Space is limited, so register early!

This program will offer a variety of sports each week such as: Soccer, Mat Ball, Basketball, Dodgeball, and Kickball. This Skyhawks multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. Soccer, baseball, and flag Football are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement and fun. Through modified games and activities, participants explore balance, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace.

Skyhawks Beginner Golf focuses on building the confidence of young athletes by teaching proper technique to refine essential skills of the game. Participants will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting, body positioning, etiquette and keeping score. The program is specifically designed for the entry-level player, simplifying instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. All equipment provided. Minecraft is a limitless platform for students to learn academic skills in a highly engaging virtual environment. In this problem-solving class, students design their own house and business as they learn about budgeting, profit and loss and supply and demand. As they serve on a city council, they study how laws are made and work together to create and vote on a city constitution of laws. Students use mathematics and geometry to construct a working urban environment. STEM skills have never been so fun! Age: 8-11

Begin n er Ch ess - $170 Chess is a fun and strategic game that can improve decision making, strategic thinking, analytical skills and more. During our 6 week program we learn the names of pieces, how they move, basic tactics, openings, checkmates and endgames. Classes include 30-40 minutes instruction with 20-30 minutes of supervised play, culminating in a tournament.

After the sudden loss of a very beloved pet, Laura discovered that she had to teach other people to be prepared for the worst. This class covers care for dogs and cats, including Proper Handling, Restraint and Transport of an injured animal, which style of CPR is appropriate for your pets, bandaging various body parts, Injuries/Illnesses Injected & Ingested Poisoning, and more. In this no-experience required course, we use MIT App Inventor software to program Android apps to respond to user inputs, read data from the environment, and design interactive games. The coaches will divide the players by age and experience to make small groups. We combine coaches clinic-style practice sessions with regular, modified scrimmage time. Ch in ese Calligr aph y w it h M ik e M ei - $199 Learn Chinese Calligraphy with acclaimed local artist Mike Mei who is also the President of the Chinese Fine Arts Society. During the class you will learn the structure of inscription on bones and turtle shells, basic strokes in brush, and trying to write some characters in seal script. Mei has shaped his career thru presenting at Harvard, some artwork is in the Worcester Art Museum, and he has delivered courses at MIT and Wellesley College. New Legacy Cultural Center (NLCC) and the Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) will be subsidizing some program registrations to essential workers and seniors 60+.
