Chess

Beginner: Chess is a fun and strategic game that can improve decision-making, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and more. Learn the names of pieces, how they move, basic tactics, openings, checkmates, and endgames. Classes include 30- 40 minutes of instruction with 20-30 minutes of supervised play.

Intermediate/Advanced: Those who already know how to move pieces can participate in this session. You will learn intermediate to advanced tactics, strategies, learn about openings, middle games, and endgames. We will focus on how to play in tournaments.

Week-Long Course: For Beginner and Intermediates. Focus is on the introduction of pieces and movements, basic tactics, and strategies. We also have fun playing peer-to-peer games. Taught by Prathiba Yuvarajan an International Master (USCF 2266) and the Director of Massachusetts Chess.

Circuit Lab - Hands On Electronics & App Inventors

Children experiment with electronics and circuitry, as well as designing their own interactive/ programmable devices. Arduino (build interactive devices) and Raspberry Pi (to learn about computers/ coding) are used to experimenting with LEDs, resistors, motors, and programming. Each day your child will design a handson project. How do phone apps work? In this no-experience-required course, use MITApp Inventor software to make fun, creative apps for Android phones and tablets. Build custom Bluetooth hardware controllers for apps. Your child will learn programming, design aspects, and will be able to build apps on their own!

Kids Test Kitchen $310 Resident • $320 Non-Resident

Each class presents students with an opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, we’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until

we’ve prepared the finished dish. Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce – cool you on a hot summer day and offer ideas for quick and healthy family meals. At the end of class, your aspiring chef will receive the main ingredient, or a sample of the finished dish, and the recipe so that they can show off what they’ve learned!

Minds in Motion Electricity & Magnetmania and CSI Crime scene Investigation

Electricity & Magnetmania: Learn all about electronics, magnetism, and more in this fun and educational hands-on workshop! Take part in our Minds in Motion electronic lab and take home your very own circuit kit. With the aid of your instructor build up to 100 exciting projects such as a flying saucer, alarm, and doorbell! You will also take part and witness many cool magnetic experiments including making and taking home the World’s Simplest Motor! Watch electricity being produced and take part in a cool activity involving a very powerful magnet.

Teen Entrepreneurship Business Course: Print-On-Demand

Brainstorm and create your very own Print-On-Demand E-commerce business! Grasp the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and best-business practices to cement the foundation and mindset for success! Learn how to generate income by creating a simple image or text design and uploading to a 3rd party print-ondemand platform. Using these designs, sell a variety of merchandise like t-shirts, water bottles, and more! With every sale, you will earn a commission while the print-on-demand platform handles printing, shipping, and all the customer details! You will also learn how to drive sales using the power of digital marketing. Work with other students as you strengthen critical thinking, improve communication skills, encourage integrity, and learn leadership qualities. Come think like an entrepreneur and grow your own business right away! Participants will need to bring their own laptop and use or create their own social media accounts.
