n After March 2020, students were remote but still received standard grades as long as they completed their coursework to their instructor’s satisfaction. Last year, the majority of students started in-person learning, but, unfortunately, many international students learned remotely. Our normal grading policy was implemented for both in-person and remote learning classes. n Due to the small class size of each graduating class, Lake Forest Academy does not rank its students. n LFA uses letter grades from A - F on an unweighted 4.0 scale. Grades A - D may have pluses and minuses. n Admission to advanced level and AP courses is decided by the appropriate department based on a student’s ability and success in previous coursework. n After exhausting current course offerings, upperclassmen may elect to pursue independent studies ranging from Software and Hardware Integration to Kinesiology. One semester of Independent Study equals a 1/4 credit. n Psychology is considered a science elective.
