Dragons Love Tacos
with Assistant Dean Pascal Bedrossian and Nancy Kabengele
with Afterschool team
with Emerald City Theatre
Pascal and Nancy welcome students in a comfortable space where children can play, read or simply relax before the start of their school day.
Register for this program to extend your day and gain access to childcare until 6:00pm. This is playground time, story time, coloring time, or one-on-one conversations with friends time. Relax in a small group and a quiet environment while waiting for mom and dad.
Based on the New York Times best-selling book, this class is full of spice and pizazz! Students will find out exactly what happens when you invite some dragons over for a taco party (hint: no spicy salsa!) and will work together to create their own tale of caution and celebration. Family and friends can join in on the fun during the final presentation on the last day of class.

Robots are used to explore the furthest reaches of our solar system, and the most extreme environments on Earth, from the frigid tundra of Antarctica, to the profound depths of our oceans. They are also used to navigate man-made environments that may be too dangerous for humans. The robot revolution has arrived, and future generations of scientists, engineers must be equipped. Students will learn the basics of electronics, mechanics, and sensor controlled actions via hands-on educational activities, combined with building DIY robotic kits to take home. RCW’s STEM-based curriculum is more than just an after school program; it is an invitation to the future of innovation and discovery. DAY

Once upon a time… In this exciting atelier, our instructor will read a story in French to our younger students and help them develop individual or collaborative art projects inspired by the story. This class is all about speaking French & having fun in a very creative way.
Madame Julie’s Music class is all about rythms, melodies and fun props. Young children develop musical proficiency in an interactive environment with singing, musical games and rhythmic improvisations. A classic atelier for our maternelles students. This program is offered on Thursday and Friday. Friday class is a repeat of the Thursday program; registration limited to one of these two classes.

Green Explorers Club teaches kids the tools of sustainability while building a healthy curiosity for life sciences and the environment. We explore sustainability through hands-on experiments and activities that demonstrate the importance of taking care of our planet. During the Spring Session at Lycée Français, Green Explorers Club plans to work with students to explore topics like: ecosystems, recycling, composting, energy conservation, identifying native plants and animals, biodegradables, urban birding, and healthy foods. All inaugural Green Explorers Club students will also be an instrumental part of building the new community garden at Lycée Français.

Girl Power Yoga
Latin Dance
with Mission Propelle
with Design Dance
This program empowers girls to discover who they are, what they believe, and how to advocate for themselves. We accomplish this through an after-school program that combines yoga, reading, and mentoring. In each one-hour class, girls develop mindfulness and self-confidence as they practice yoga. They learn how to solve problems by reading original storybooks starring Dottie Tov, a relatable and age-aligned female protagonist. Throughout class, girls learn to apply leadership skills in their everyday lives as they receive situation-based mentorship from trained instructors.
This class is an excellent introduction to the most widely practiced Latin social dances. They will be exposed to the rhythms of merengue, bachata, salsa, cumbia, and cha cha. Each class includes a warmup, an introduction to basic steps, and progressing to more challenging material (ie, faster steps, or learning arm combinations). Each class also offers relevant geographical and cultural information, identifying countries of origin for each dance and the context in which the dances are used. Dancers first master the steps as individuals, and then dance with a partner, learning in the process about teamwork, respect, and self control.
