Dear 55 Plus Members,

Thanks for making it a memorable March! It was a hoot to start the month with line dancing at the Social Dance. We were pleased to see many of you join us for a social slice of pie to celebrate “pi” day. Members benefited from the knowledge of guest speaker, Tami Anastasia and a panel of 3 local experts, who joined us to talk about all thing’s dementia. Take a small step in helping our community by becoming a Dementia Friend online here https://dementiafriendsusa.org/become-a-dementia-friend. March’s Great Getaway caught Beatlemania with a live concert experience. We ended the month with our first American Mah Jongg Tournament. Shout out to Kalane for getting the “tiles” rolling on this event. Stephanie and Hands-on Art participants closed out the month making spring wreaths. Sincere thanks to members for being part of not just these events, but all the wonderful groups in between.

Now for April programming highlights worthy of your excitement...drum roll please...literally! Sign up for a drumming circle Monday, April 22nd! This April our theme is “Celebration of the Arts”, and we are looking forward to the festivities. Stephanie will host a Hands-on Art class EVERY FRIDAY of the month. All materials for Hands-on Art class are supplied for participants, and the result will be taken home. Please RSVP online or with 55 Plus Staff. Kiana will bring her energy to the large hall on Thursday April 11th for a FREE Zumba Dance Party. Whether you are a regular, curious about this class, or simply like to dance, come give it a whirl. Zumba is a great workout for both your mind and body! On Tuesday, April 23rd don’t miss local author Tonya McQuade recount her fascinating story of how family research led to writing a book, giving context to 50 previously unpublished Civil War letters. As a bonus we have 3 guest speakers coming in April. Cancer CAREpoint will present “Top Strategies for Healthy Eating” and highlight some of the free services they offer. Back by popular demand, another session of iPhone and Android training is available. Please register with 55 Plus office. Our Great Getaway bus is heading to Muir Woods in honor of Earth Day. We hope you get involved in this month’s “Celebration of the Arts”.

Sincerely,
