Happy August Members!

Our community now has over 800 members! This July, summer was in full swing. Members enjoyed an ice cream social, discounted lap swim, water workout classes, a Great Getaway trip to a ball game, and on the last day of the month we will celebrate our annual summer picnic. We are excited to welcome Jackie Ward to our 55 Plus Team. Jackie is eager to plan fun activities and Great Getaway trips. With five years of experience in a similar role, and a master’s degree in education, Jackie will organize engaging experiences for you. When she’s not at work, Jackie enjoys backpacking, watching soccer, playing ping pong, cooking, or spending time with her family. Help give Jackie a warm welcome by attending “Food for Thought” on August 9th. Learn about and taste treats from around the world and get to know each other over tea and coffee. Local French bakery, Fluer de Cocoa, has kindly donated macaroons. Jackie will also be subbing in to instruct a Chair Exercise class while West Valley College Stay Fit and Balance Awareness is on break between semesters this month. Jackie will lead Code Names and Prize BINGO which will both be at new times this month. See the calendar for details!

This month we look forward to spending another fun day at Vasona Boating, a Country Line Dance Friday night social dance, tasty ice cream Sundae bar, working with alcohol ink at Hands on Art, and the return of Art and Music Appreciation. Our guest speaker this month will feature 3 local experts who will share insights into navigating life transitions. The Great Getaway trip is all set to explore Asilomar.
