Dear 55 Plus Members,
June marked the start of another FAB (fifty-five and above) summer. Opportunities for social interactions were plentiful in June. Social dance attendees enjoyed live music by the Bob Gutierrez band. Water workout classes and discounted lap swim are underway at the pool. We had a lovely day out at Vasona Boathouse both out on the water and soaking up the views under the canopy of lovely trees. Hands on Art participants stayed chill with Mandala Dot painting. Donuts and music by the StarGeezers were enjoyed for Father’s Day.
Thank you to those of you that participated in the D4 Olympics in May! The results are in, and Los Gatos was well represented on the leader board! Mary Jane Wegener brought home the silver medal with an impressive score in the Word Tumble event. The Mah Jonggers and Hyenas teams both finished on the podium in two events, the Stack and Slide and Fly to the Finish. Way to go!
July means that the annual Summer Picnic is almost here! Be sure to secure your $5 ticket from the front office. Each year 200 members gather on the Civic Center Lawn at tables with umbrellas, to enjoy live music and BBQ food. Thank you to our community sponsors, the Los Gatos Thrives Foundation and Clear Captions for helping support this event!
Thank you all for being part of our community!
Lisanne Kennedy (Recreation Coordinator)
Construction of the brand-new ADA gender neutral bathroom, in the hallway behind reception, is now complete! Funding for this project was supported by the Town of Los Gatos and a County Grant sponsored by County Supervisor Joe Simitian. Thank you to the Town of Los Gatos Town Council Members and Mayor Badame for supporting this project. Our gratitude to Dan Keller from the Town of Los Gatos Parks and Public Works team managing the project.
