CONCEPT
DESIGN DIRECTION
‘Ready or not, here we come’ is a playful strapline that reflects graduating students leaving education and embarking on careers within the creative industries. The strapline allows for a flexible set of promotional materials and exhibition signage that celebrate the work of the graduating year across all disciplines and courses.
The focus dictates a coherent visual style across a breadth of materials. Each composition is unique, yet they all unify through a consistent application of typography and considered photographic approach.
TONE The resolution to this brief is playful and expressive with an additional focus toward professionalism and creativity through the deliberate design direction.
Every model can be seen with their eyes covered on one side whilst having one eye open on the reverse. This is an aspect that has been put into place in order to provoke user interaction and to allow each reader to openly interpret how the imagery works alongside the overarching concept.

PROMOTIONAL POSTER
P R I VA T E V I E W I N V I T A T I O N
As outlined within the design direction, the promotional posters make use of both sides of the paper. The front contains all of the specified information that needs to be promoted and features a graduating student with their eyes covered.
The private view invitation is conceptually coherent and enhances the interaction across both sides of the paper. The separated strapline helps to achieve this given that the format doesn’t dictate a stand-alone delivery of all information at once.
Ollie Saward & Liam Hine BA (Hons) Graphic Design
Meanwhile, the reverse is stripped of its text and portrays a graduating student with one eye glancing out to industry. This side of the poster is aimed to be more desirable through a direct interaction with the reader.
Again multiple models could be applied to this layout in order to represent a variety of courses and to create a differentiation that could create a talking point amongst professionals within the creative industries.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The poster may also contain a variation of photographic models and therefore become a collectable series that represents multiple courses within the college.

EXHIBITION GUIDE / LEAFLET
DESIGN & ART DIRECTION
Through positioning half of the model alongside the fold of the exhibtion guide the user is encouraged to interact with all parts of the design. The format is standard A4 with an offset fold that assists in heightening the desire to open the leaflet up and to see what it may contain. Contained within the guide is an introduction to the exhibition and floor-by-floor break-downs of where each degree show can be located at both the Blenheim Walk and Vernon Street campuses. Contact details and maps are also included with a view to expansion should individual floor maps be required.

EXTERIOR SIGNAGE
INTERIOR SIGNAGE
Exterior signage may be utilised to directly reflect printed promotional materials. With four sides, each alternating side may contain a different model looking out towards industry.
Interior signage will assist with wayfinding towards each unique course. Visual clues will be provided through the models and their props that allow each discipline to be represented. The tools and materials may relate to more than one course if necessary. This is where the typographical information can provide specific course names for clear directions.
All course listings and dates would be included and communicated to passers by and complimentary to the smaller scale posters.

WEBSITE BUTTONS
DESIGN & ART DIRECTION
Web based buttons / banner are designed to be stand-out and recognisable instantaneously. This is applicable to both the type and image based elements of the overall design direction. As with the entire range of promotion, the buttons are intended to be flexible and could potentially change to an alternative model with just a refresh of the web page. Similar buttons and web banners could be produced for external websites and the same idea may be used for print-based publications such as Creative Review, Arts World, Computer Arts etc.
