Whale hello there my wonderful Key Clubbers! :3 This is Morgan Lucena, Lindbergh’s new Key Club El Presidente :D Not sure why I said that in Spanish… I take Japanese XD Anyways, being your new president is unbelievable. I’m so excited to share my passion and ideas with you all. Having the opportunity to lead such a kindhearted group is quite the honor. The responsibilities of being president are very serious and I plan on being the best leader I can be. I will lead with confidence and determination. I strive to become an approachable, friendly, and understanding leader that you all can come to for help. However, I am not a pushover and I will not put up with rotten seeds. Give me respect and I will do so in return. Despite my lack of experience and age, being elected as president demonstrates your trust in my leadership skills. I will make sure to not burn our Key Club to the ground, both literally and hypothetically :] Being your president so far has already been a challenging and fun experience. I wake up every morning thinking about Key Club and go to bed at night thinking about Key Club. I don’t even hate Mondays anymore because of this awesome organization :D This position has made me more outgoing, helpful, and loud spirited :P I now have the urge to introduce myself to strangers instead of keeping to the back like the shy girl I used to be. I now want to do anything and everything I can to help others, even if this means doing things I don’t necessarily want to do. “Caring – Our way of life” truly is the motto I live by every single day. I am no longer embarrassed to show the school, the community, the world our Key Club cheer. I am now ready and proud to cheer at the top of my lungs and thrust exaggeratedly as much as I can, even if I am singled out. Though, I will try my best to make sure you guys don’t suffer secondhand embarrassment if somebody does single me out to do the cheer (please don’t). I wish to spread my newfound sense of pride for Key Club to you all. I will do everything in my power to go to all of the future events in hopes of making many memories with all of you! See you all at school, meetings, community service opportunities, and special events! Don’t be afraid to approach me and say hi. I want to get to know all of you! In love and service, Morgan Lucena

Renton Clothing Bank
BY JUSTIN DANAO This month had several fun and successful events. On April 1 , we had our last
tutor session with the first and second graders at Renton Park Elementary School, where we helped them with basic math. It was a bit heartbreaking for a few of the Key Clubbers and elementary students, but we eventually followed Mr. Mahna’s advice and “got over it.” On April 6th a few of our Key Clubbers volunteered at the Renton Kiwanis Clothing Bank and folded and rearranged clothes. We also had the Spring Into Action events on April 9 and April 1 3, which was a blast. There were essentially two teams – the Dirt Squad and the Pot Squad. The Dirt Squad made soil and delivered them to the potters, while the Pot Squad potted up the native plant species. Another fun event was the Seahawks 1 2K Run where we stuffed bags with brochures. It quickly became a competition who could stuff the fastest, and we ended up finishing 2 hours early. We also had the Just Between Friends event on April 21 , where we organized clothes, toys, and books. The last event was the Arbor and Earth Day event on April 27, where we planted 1 ,500 plants in a park. After the event we all got free shirts and ate hot dogs. Don’t miss out on exhilarating events like these and make sure that you go to as many upcoming events as you can!

BY JESSICA TIAMZON Hey guys! Wanna learn how to make them dolla bills fly? FUNDRAISING. DAS RIGHT. Key Club raises money for many reasons but we mainly raise for DCON! This year, your new officers did two yard work events for the Kelly family by cleaning up their yards in exchange for money. Altogether we raised $500 for the club from the yard work events!
We also started the Happy Sad Coins. Every Monday during our meetings, we collect change for the Eliminate Project, which helps eliminate MNT (maternal and neonatal tetanus) in many counties around the world. For every coin you donate, you share a reason why you are happy or sad that day. Although sharing is encouraged, it is only optional. We have already raised $28.76 dollars over the past 2 weeks! Thank you for all of your support! Lastly, we have been fundraising for UW’s VHC (Vietnam Health Clinic). This is a non-profit organization that takes annual trips to Vietnam to set up free health clinics for those who need it. They need alcohol wipes, band-aids, gauze (4x4), hydrogen peroxide, tongue depressor, antiseptic soap in liquid, toothbrushes, medical gloves (latex/non latex) and eyeglasses. Please check your houses to see if you can donate any or all of these items You can give these items to any of the officers!

"525,600 minutes. 525,600 moments so dear. Now multiply that by four. Each and every day of my life has been forever changed by Key Club. Jun Park (Past Div. 33 Lt. G) once said, 'We pay dues to be a member of Key Club, but I pay my $1 2 to be a part of a family.' Key Club breathes life into everything I do and there isn’t a day where I’m not thankful for it. It has been an honor serving you all and I wish the best of luck to the new officers and the members of next year."

PRESIDENT VINCENT BABASA
"Hey Key Club! I know, I may have said this already, but I just wanted to thank you guys once again for making this past year so great! I’m really going to miss Mondays, standing in front of you guys, seeing those smiling faces, and knowing that many of you are dedicated to helping out your community and world. Thanks for being, in my opinion, the BEST CLUB EVER! Lindbergh Key Club will be going great places in the future. Keep up all the great work! LHSKC4EVER!!!"
VICE PRESDIDENT DWINA SOLIHIN
"Over the years, Key Club has been one of my best experiences I could ever have. In my freshman year, I joined only because of my brother. I know it's lame but thanks to a special sophomore named Nguyen, I learned what Key Club is truly about. It's not just the community service but it's about strengthening the bond with the people in our community. It still amazes me how spirited the Clubbers are but they're my driving force in keeping motivated and doing my best. During my term, I worked with some amazing people and I'm thankful to have worked with them :) They've created some of my best memories with key club and I'm excited to see what the future holds. :)"
SECRETARY ADRIAN DE JESUS
"Key Club has given me the most memorable and meaningful experiences during my high school career."
TREASURER GEEIA FLORES
"Hey Lindbergh Key Club! I can't believe a year has passed since I was elected as your Treasurer along with the other officers. I'm proud of what our club has achieved with its increased membership and volunteering this year and hope you have enjoyed all the fun and laughter that came with it. Key Club has changed me ever since I became a member my freshman year. I hope all of you guys continue to serve our school and community and live by our club motto. I wish you all the best of luck in your volunteering and helping others because I know that the officers that are now standing in front of you will give your their all in giving you the best Key Club experience during this upcoming year."
EDITOR AARON REYES
"As both an outgoing officer of our Key Club and graduating student of Lindbergh, WRITING THIS MAKES ME SODA SAD. Each time I am asked about my high school experience—what I have done, what I have seen, who I have met—Key Club immediately comes to my mind. Thank you everyone, both former and current members and officers, for inarguably being the best aspect of my entire high school career. Good luck, and have fun next year everyone! You are now under one of the most beautiful Key Club boards of our school’s history. ;)"
