Welcome back my beautiful LHS Key Clubbers! <3 I hope the summer has done all of you well. I know I’ve seen quite a few of your faces throughout the months of break so I’m very thankful for that. Seriously, not all Key Clubbers are active in the summer. Volunteer coordinators have told me repeatedly that our Key Club is very amazing to work with! And that LHS Key Club has garnered quite an impressive reputation within the Human Services Department at City Hall! This definitely wouldn’t have happened without you all. You guys are truly the best! And I know it’s hard for people to get back into the groove of school after two months of summer break, but I know we can do it for Key Club! Our Key Club meetings will be just like before! They will happen every Monday in the cafeteria and start at 2:15pm! I really can’t wait to see all y’all faces again! <3 The advisors, officers, and I have many goals for our club this year! We want next few months to be unforgettable! We will have to work together in order to meet these goals, but I’m sure we will reach them if we all give our best! See you guys soon! :) Yours always in Caring, Love, Friendship, and Service Morgan Lucena 2013014 LHS Key Club President
¡Hola mis amigos! I hope you've all had eventful summers, because I certainly did. Through an organization called AMIGOS de las Americas, I spent 6 weeks this summer in Guaira, Paraguay with a host family, building a park, speaking Spanish, eating empanadas, climbing trees with my 22 host siblings, and doing general Paraguayan things. The experience gave me a renewed appreciation for connections, culture, and community service. This newsletter theme is "Soak Up the Sun" after the Sheryl Crow song. I hope that this summer you all were able to soak up not only the sun, but also the service and fun working alongside your fellow Key Clubbers. Lindbergh Key Club has a great reputation thanks to you all, so keep it up! Con cariño, Jenny Zhang 20132014 LHS Key Club Bulletin Editor

BY JUSTIN DANAO This summer was amazing with all of the events that we had! From June 25th to August 27th, we had the Renton Farmers Market every Tuesday in Downtown Renton at the Piazza. At this event, we unloaded everything that the farmers were selling, set up their tents, and took the tents down at the end of the day. If some of their goods weren’t sold, we would also help them load it back into their truck. On the 4th of July, we went to Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park for the Renton 4th of July event. Here, we walked around the park and asked people to take a survey about the event. On July 5th, we had our Lindbergh High school July Key Club Meeting at the Fairwood Library. At the
Farme Renton
Seattle Rally
Renton 4th of July Event meeting, we talked about upcoming events that our members could go to. On July 19th, we also had the Division 32 July DCM at the Fairwood Library. At the DCM we played many fun icebreakers, and received some updates from our beloved LTG., Alan Yeh. From July 26th through July 28th, we had the Renton River Days event at Liberty Park. At the Renton River Days, we picked up litter, set up tents, watched booths when the owner left, helped out at different areas, and maintained the dining areas at the Renton River Days. On August 12th, we had Seattle Rally at Hazen High School. At Seattle Rally, we got to meet up with old friends, make new ones, and learn a little bit more about Key Club! On August 16th, we had our Lindbergh High school August Key Club Meeting at Gene Coulon
Memorial Beach Park. At the meeting, we talked about upcoming and past events, and played some fun and exciting icebreakers! On August 23rd, we had the Garden of Goo event at the Wetland Plant Nursery. At this event, we transplanted and maintained the nursery stock. And on August 31st, we had the Green Kent Work Party and the Division 32 August DCM at Lake Meridian Park. At the Green Kent Work Party, we took out invasive species from the park, and shoveled woodchips into wheelbarrows. At the Division 32 August DCM, we played icebreakers, talked about visitations from the LTG., and had a potluck at the end! Don’t miss out on the fun, so check out the upcoming events
