HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Communal Living.
Situated in Crookesmoore, Sheffield. With a desire to return those who have moved out due to the surrounding student population increase, the housing proposal aims to facilitate a new coommunity. A community that ties in with the flourishing surrounding community. Maximising interaction and socialisation.
CASE STUDY Milbertshofen, Munich Having visited the housing development during the Landscape summer trip it provided a great precedence on not only communal living but the use of materials, vegetation and the idea of building a community. Although the case study cannot be fully applicable to Sheffield’s own unique situation but it contains lessons in using elements that enable social interaction and sharing amongst a housing development.

GREEN LINK Known from the survey, the housing development area has the potential to become an essential green link straight to as far as the Ponderosa park. The social aspects towards my design looks to provide that ecological link through a housing setting. By focussing on vibrant outdoor gardens and spaces that allow for a linkage of trees. Interconnected with hedgings that provides privacy but acts as a green wall to the inner shared communal space.
