Motivation is Contagious
Editor contact details: Miss HR@IBIS Angelique.ellis@ibis-management.com & Chernalise.candelaria@IBIS-managament.com Grammatical reviewer: Mr. Evol@IBIS Staying motivated sometimes is a struggle, your determination is frequently assaulted by negative thoughts and anxiety about the future. Everyone faces doubt and at a point they may also feel depression. What separates the highly successful is the ability to keep moving forward.
Me,Myself,Motivation Motivation itself is a result;.for instance, among the most desired results of a truly and consistently motivated employee for both managment and executives alike — is increased productivity. Sometimes when you’re trying to reach a goal, it’s impossible to connect the dots where you currently are. Somehow you just have to trust in yourself, and have faith that you will reach your dreams, despite not having the slightest clue or perfectly laid out road to where you are going. Nobody can connect the dots looking forward; you only can connect them when you’re looking backwards. You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in the future; you have to trust in something, you need to identify what it is, but step to motivation is to move forward.
Start acknowledging all the good you are doing. Don’t discount the little things. I mean, how many times do you blame yourself for doing something small that wasn’t perfect? How often do you think the good things such as being on time, or signing a new client is simply how it’s meant to be? They need celebrating. You need more wins in your life. This will motivate you, encourage you, and help you see how brilliant you truly are. To get motivated to start doing something, from your own experience, the most effective trick for me is to just do it As soon as you think something needs to be done, jump into it, doing it immediately (of course, provided the conditions are feasible). You must not think about anything else, suppressing all other thoughts, keeping your mind blank, acting like a robot. Yes, it sounds weird, but it does work! Otherwise, you will debate whether you should do it now or there were too many issues with doing it, or there are other more pleasurable and exciting things to do over this boring task. Motivation In Definition Internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal.
The Woodcutter
Positive Quote of The Month:
A motivational story by the author Stephen Covey, for everyone to learn, grow and be effective.
Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.
When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked.
His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work. In first day of work, the woodcutter brought 18 trees. “Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!”
Reflection: Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we don’t take time to sharpen the “axe”. In today’s world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever, but less happy that ever.
Very motivated by the boss words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he could bring only 10 threes. Day after day he was bringing less and less threes. “I must be losing my strenght” the woodcutter tought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.
“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”
Why is that? Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay “sharp”? There’s nothing wrong with activity and hard work. But we should not get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like our personal life, taking time to get close to our Creator, giving more time for our family, taking time to read etc. We all need time to relax, to think and meditate, to learn and grow. If we don’t take the time to sharpen the “axe”, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness.
