CEHM

The CEHM™ Software is based on the GTAP™ Performance Software with additional capabilities for engine health monitoring metallurgical lifing algorithms and diagnostics. The software is installed in the engine control room for operations monitoring by our customers to identify and determine the source of performance degradation as well as determine the operating cost of the performance degradation and optimize the overhaul interval for the individual engines.

NG

The GTAW ‘Narrow Groove’ welding system at Doosan Heavy Industries Korea will perform orbital welds depositing 690 alloy cladding on the inner surface of a pipe joint between the nozzle and safe end of a PWR Vessel Outlet Nozzle using our NG weld head, GTVI and viewing system, FireView™. The Liburdi FireView™ Control Console is designed for remote welding applications and enables the welding operator to accurately interface with the weld process even though they are not physically present at the weld location.

NRU

The custom system designed and built by Liburdi Automation, in partnership with AECL, will be used to perform weld repair on the NRU reactor vessel wall in Chalk River, ON. First set of welding tools has been delivered to AECL and has been installed in a full height mock-up at Chalk River's NRX facility. The NRX mock-up allows the repair team to simulate geometrical constraints of the NRU vessel. AECL and Liburdi welders are using GT VP power supplies in conjunction with our innovative FireView™ system to simulate repairs at the bottom of the reactor, 9 meters deep. Once the welders have completed simulation training and qualification, the equipment will be disassembled and moved to the NRU reactor facility in preparation for the next major activity, the start of in-vessel repair.

TOP PHOTO: Repaired GE Frame 7EA Stage 1 Nozzle with full gas path Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC). This gas turbine capable of producing 85 megawatts of power, enough to light up 850,000 units of 100 watt light bulbs. The hot air exiting the nozzles exceed supersonic speed. LEFT: Incoming condition of a GE Frame 9E Stage 1 Nozzle condition. With over 100 square inches of cracks, many of which are through wall cracks. The nozzle assembly was rejected by other vendors as unrepairable. LTS repaired and succeeded! RIGHT: A Liburdi repaired GE Frame 9E Stage 1 Nozzle with full gas path Thermal Barrier Coating (showing white colour). This gas turbine capable of producing 130 megawatts of power, enough to light up 1.3 million 100 watt light bulb. This ring assembly weights over 4000 lbs, and the entire gas turbine weights 218 tonnes and 22 meters long, the biggest gas turbine GE produces. It burns over 20 lbs of natural gas per second and intake 8.5 olympic size swimming pool of air every minute!
