SGT 800 Rejuvenation Team
Designed for continuous, heavy duty operation, the SGT-800 capacity for power generation applications is estimated at 47 MW. The first repair of this configuration (casing and fuel nozzles) outside of the OEM that achieved superior exhaust spread temperature readings along with expected performance characteristics. The repair effort was performed by Turbine Services with excellent support by the Dimetrics personnel to extract and then weld the inner casing wall. A customized cutting adaptation tool was developed for the F-Head during the development phase of this project. Liburdi Turbine Liburdi Dimetrics

When laser and powder welding is performed, an integrated coaxial feed laser weld head is required. This 1kW designed is primarily used for cladding of aerospace parts with our standard 2mm weld head powder nozzle. Powder is transported from the hopper via a plastic powder feed line. A regulated flow of carrier gas is established and directed through a pickup tube that passes through the bottom of the hopper. The hopper is then pressurized and a pneumatic vibrator mounted on the bottom of the hopper is activated. Our Liburdi automated welding systems range from tabletop style TIG welder for simple stainless steel plates to 7 axis system with a 1500 lb positioner running TIG, micro-plasma or LASER with multiple filler wire drives or powder feed systems are suitable for welding complex three-dimensional profiles in titanium or other superalloys. The enclosed system will be the first in Europe to process the CFM-56 LPT Case, Titanium Fan Blades and all four stages of Inconel / Waspaloy engine seals using laser and plasma processes Liburdi Automation Bottom right photo: Miguel Pulmones on site installation

The sole purpose is to reduce the risk to residence and businesses in this area from storm surge associated with tropical events. This pump station houses 11 pumps, each rated at 800,000 gallons per minute. The largest pumps ever produced. Our automated K weld head with Orbimig II™ were used to weld double wall fuel pipes which transport fuel from on site backup fuel farms to the pump station in emergency situations. West Closure Complex
Located half a mile south of the Harvey and Algiers canals, this complex consists of a navigation flood gate, flood walls, levees and pump station (shown in background of main photo).
In recent years, alloy 600 base material with dissimilar metal 82/182 butt welds (DMWs) between pipe-to-nozzle in PWR power plants have experienced primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC). Weld Overlay (WOL) is a mitigation/repair process to avoid or eliminate the stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) in alloy 600 material. Liburdi was selected for welding procedure development (WPS/PQR), welding and grinding system supply, training, on site outage technical support for pressurizer dissimilar welds overlay repair in Taiwan PWR power plants. Alloy 52 filler material is used for OD full structural weld overlay. Temper bead technique (using Machine GTAW) is used to apply the weld overlay on the low-alloy steel portion of the nozzle. All final weld overlays and surrounding areas successfully passed ultrasonic examination and surface-examination with PT in accordance with the ASME Code and applicable Code Cases. On-site Equipment: - Custom front end weld head - Automated overlay grinder - GTVIŽ power source - FireView™ remote viewing system.
