We stopped by to meet Sofija to get some beauty tips and to find out a little more about Sophie’s Beauty Line.

1. Do you have any advice for summer beauty and treatments?

I think people underestimate how important it is to nurture our bodies inside out and this is why we so often advise our customers to take care of their diet and ensure they have sufficient fluid intake, especially in these hot summer months.

Also, the scalp plays such an important part in ensuring a healthy head of glossy hair. Topical peels and massages stimulate circulation, which promotes growth and improves new hair quality. In addition, there are also some wonderful essential oils that speed up circulation and solve the problems of dry and oily scalps. Some masks are great for the full length of our hair and help nourish the hair shaft, keeping it robust and resulting in a wellgroomed head of hair.

2. How much time should we dedicate to hair in the summer period given that it is exposed to the sun and sea?

Well at this time of year it’s really important to protect your hair from the sun, salt water and chlorine. It’s good to get into a beauty regime that ensures this.

My team and I always recommend products that are especially designed for sun protection. I also advise our customers who have blonde hair that during the summer season their hair needs extra attention. More concretely, we always recommend mask serums and spray conditioners as a form of maintaining double protection.

3. What treatments do you recommend in your salon? Can you single one out, and why this one?

As a long-time Redken distributor, I would say that no other brand has such a comprehensive range of salon products and home care products. Obviously, it depends on your needs or what beauty effect you want to achieve.

One treatment that I can recommend is the Redken ABC live-in treatment. The treatment has taken the entire hair beauty world by storm as it is the most concentrated and effective all-in-one formula for strengthening all types of damaged hair. Basically, it is a nourishing treatment that provides ultimate strengthening and intensive care. It also strengthens damaged hair by protecting it from heat up to 450 °C, it soothes static electricity, gives shine, and reduces hair breakage. This pH balancing treatment is specifically formulated with an acidic pH value to combat the adverse effects of the dyeing process, styling devices and even water. The result? Healthy and well-groomed hair!

4. So how does this work, what’s the process?

The Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate is formulated with citric acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid used in a variety of skin care products, and the brand’s Bonding Care complex. These ingredients work together to reinforce weakened bonds to help build your hair’s strength and resiliency.

I recommend that Redken ABC live-in treatment be used as a complete system with Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s easy - apply Redken ABC to wet hair, lather, leave-in for about five to ten minutes and then rinse. Follow with Acidic Bonding Concentrate shampoo and conditioner and enjoy the results.

5. What kind of products do you regularly use, and how do you arrive to the perfect formula?

Just as we pick out a dress or a beautiful restaurant, the care of our body requires that we have to look for something special from beauty products. I must emphasise that in addition to representing leading global brands and offering great products that you can buy in our salon, it’s always great to let our team of experts bring out the best in our beauty.

One of my many favourites for hair is Quick Blowout spray for protection before styling. I can also recommend Biologique Recherche’s Face Lift Treatment and for a another great treatment that is undoubtedly effective- Endospheres Therapy, aiding to achieve amazing results.

6. What should every woman have on hand when it comes to hair products?

I am a brunette and have long natural hair. I always have Redken invisible hair dry shampoo in my bag, and I find that Redken Heat Protective Leave-in Cream is indispensable in the summer months.
