PSALM 3:3

Do you know what it’s like to feel everyone is against you? When Absalom and his mighty army were in pursuit of David. People predicted God would not save David. Yet, David prayed to God. He must have recalled killing the Philistine giant Goliath, and how, as a shepherd boy, he slew a lion. In recalling God’s faithfulness, David knew his Lord would take care of him again.

a Or “of my soul.” b Literally, “There is no salvation from God for him.” c Meaning, “You lift my chin,” an encouraging gesture. d Literally, “be afraid of ten thousand people set against me all around.” e Or “You have broken my enemies . . . you have broken the teeth .”
