WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY?

Abby is a Summer baby and loves the water, she just started kindy so invited her friends from her class for a pool party. What better theme than under the sea and mermaids to tie it all together?
Inspiration from the table started with the invite from Gosh Paperie, The colours were perfect with a splash of gold glitter. I used the shapes from the invitation and transformed them into shapes that were painted to match for the back drop.
The cake and desserts were made in the colour pallete in a mixture of chocolate, fondant and buttercream.
SHARE YOUR TIPS FOR THOSE PLANNING CHILDREN’S PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS
Buy a trestle table, nice cloth or material and invest in a few props like cake stands (white will work with most themes) and jars. A few key pieces that are inexpensive that I have used over the years include photo frames with plain paper backing and mirrors which also look amazing to display individual desserts. Keep the colour scheme simple and if you have different suppliers, make sure you send them a photo for reference so your lilac isn’t their mauve. Most of all when creating parties for kids, have fun, try something new and set a budget.
