Dear Friend, The late, great Fred Rogers once said, “Anyone who does anything to help a child is a hero to me.” We couldn’t agree more, which is why we are so appreciative of, and thankful for, all the heroes who helped make our 2021 Heroes Ball a reality—even though it’s now virtual. As you know, Hasbro Children’s is pivoting from an in-person Heroes Ball to a livestream virtual event because of the rise in transmission rates of the Delta variant of COVID-19. The health and well-being of our community is our highest priority. Although (sadly) we’re not face-to-face, it’s still going to be a special evening! For starters, you have a virtual gala kit of goodies—complete with adult beverages for the evening toast—so that you can celebrate from the comfort of your home as you watch the Heroes Ball. You can click any of the items on the site to see more details, including the current bid price and the option to bid. If you’re interested in placing a bid, select the blue ‘BID’ icon. This will prompt you to login with your mobile phone number and password, or to register if you have not previously. You will receive a text message as soon as you are outbid and no longer the winning bidder for an item. You will be told the next bid level and asked if you would like to rebid at that level. The silent auction will close on Tuesday, September 28, at noon, so bid early and often!

You can participate in the live auction by logging in to the live virtual event on Thursday, September 23, at 7 p.m. When the auction begins you will see a button on the screen with the current bid amount. To bid, select the dollar amount on the screen and click ‘CONFIRM’ or ‘CONFIRM ANONYMOUSLY’ to place your bid for the item.
How do I make a donation to the evening’s fund-a-need? Donations can be placed at event.gives/heroesball by clicking on the blue ‘DONATE NOW’ banner on the homepage. During the live virtual event, participants can make a donation during the program by selecting the donate button when it appears on the event site.

How do I pay if I pledged a donation online or won an auction item? The virtual event site utilizes a “cart” system. Whatever combination of auction items won and/or donations you may have made, they will all remain in your cart until you checkout.
