Door-to-Door Dear Neighbors, The summer of 2013 is beginning to wind down, but before it comes to a close I want to invite you to our new event, a community concert that will be held on September 8 from 1 pm–5 pm in the Arena Parking Lot on North Main Street.

Letter From The President North Main Street Rocks! ED Renovations Community Liaison Corner

The event is called “North Main Street Rocks,” and is detailed on the back cover of this month’s Door-to-Door issue. Local musical acts from Providence and Rhode Island will perform. The event will also include family activities, food trucks, neighborhood community booths, a “Dunk For Good” tank, and more. I hope you will attend the event with your friends and families. The Miriam Hospital has been part of the North Main Street Advisory Committee since its inception, and this event has been planned in conjunction with merchants and other engaged stakeholders of the neighborhood. As many of you know we have been renovating our Emergency Department since 2012. Renovations are occurring predominately inside the walls of the main building with minimal impact to the community. In keeping with our commitment to maintain community sensitive construction practices, we have limited the use of heavy equipment and external staging as much as possible. In brief, we anticipate that the Emergency Department renovations will be complete by June of 2014. Other construction this summer has included the removal and rebuilding of a new MRI area in the back of the hospital. We anticipate that our new MRI machine will arrive within the next 3–6 weeks. We will notify neighbors living along Highland Avenue of the date of the crane lift for the new MRI. Should you have any questions or concerns about our Emergency Department renovations or other issues, please call The Neighborhood Hotline at (401) 793-4040 or email TMHneighbors@lifespan.org Sincerely,

“Autumn... the year’s last, loveliest smile.” –William Cullen Bryant
