DOC Doctor on Call Newport Hospital is again pleased to offer its innovative on-call physician service to cover you and your family during the summer months. This unique program offers you exclusive 24/7 access to an on-call physician during the summer season.

What we offer: A board-certifed family practice physician providing personal, on-demand patient care, including house calls and phone consults.

Benefits include: • Personalized health and wellness assessment upon your arrival in Newport to provide seamless enrollment into the program • Assistance with member-specifc health care needs, such as immunizations, preventative testing, and executive physicals* • Coordination of referrals to specialty physicians as needed • Healthy send-off prior to the conclusion of the program to review and coordinate care with your primary care physician* As a special beneft, DOC members have the option to extend coverage to visiting friends and family at the member’s residence, for an additional hourly rate.

*DOC membership covers the physician fees only; testing such as labs, imaging, medications, etc. are at additional cost.

Meet the DOC Team Piamarie Ballarin-Feldman, MD, is a board-certifed family medicine physician with more than three decades of experience in primary care. She received her medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez Medical School, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and completed her training in family medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, and at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Joseph England, MD, is a board-certifed family medicine physician and geriatrician. He has more than three decades of experience in primary care, caring for generations of Jamestown residents as a physician at Jamestown Family Practice, and serving as chair of the department of primary care at Newport Hospital. Dr. England received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Connecticut Medical School, and Middlesex Hospital in Connecticut. Thomas McGue, MD, is the former vice president and chief medical offcer for Newport Hospital. He previously served as director of clinical services, Naval Health Care New England, and commanding offcer, Naval Health Clinic Great Lakes. Dr. McGue received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in family practice at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
