Going, going, gone Festival cancelled but auction going online It was with a heavy heart that the Casterton Kelpie Association made the call at the end of last month to not go ahead with the festival component of the Kelpie Muster but president Karen Stephens said the call had to be made to mitigate losses for the association, community organisations and local business. “Even if things had changed more quickly with restrictions, we have found it always takes a few weeks after a lockdown for people to feel comfortable and to start moving around again,” Karen said. “To try and go ahead just wasn’t tenable, we had to make a decision. It was about the health and well being of our volunteers and wider community. That being said, the volunteers are gutted. We got so close, that was the hardest thing to know we got so close.” See inside for full story
