Looking to get back on track The Limestone Coast Tourism sector is ready to work its way back It might be one of the hardest hit sectors over the past two years of COVID mayhem and uncertainty but the tourism industry is fighting its way back. Borrowing the words of a famous shampoo slogan -it won’t happen overnight but it will happen. And Limestone Coast destination development manager Biddie Shearing is calling on the wider
community to be part of the recovery. “We are really looking to ramp up engagement with the community,” Ms Shearing said. “We need our locals to be advocates so we are keen for people to subscribe to our website so they can stay across all the new things happening in the region. That way, whenever they have
visitors, friends or family coming to visit, they can suggest new experiences.” And that communication, along with other marketing and administrative duties are set to be taken up by a new member to the team – Heidi Guyett (formerly Eldridge - pictured left) – who joined the Limestone Coast Tourism team fresh from a successful tenure
at the Coonawarra Vignerons Association. Adding more boots on the ground, will help the peak body ramp up its support of the local tourism sector because everyone concedes it will be a long road back. See inside for full story
