Janzen Insulation

COMFORT AND EFFICIENCY

Janzen Insulation promotes both

By Ellen Ashton-Haiste

Satisfaction and safety are priorities for Jake and Ben Janzen when it comes to customer service. The brothers are partners in Janzen Insulation, a company based in Port Franks that’s keeping area homes and businesses comfortable both winter and summer.

After working in the industry for several years, the Janzens launched their own business in 2011. Over more than a decade, they have attracted an expanding customer base along the Lake Huron shoreline, from Goderich down to London.

They are committed to giving customers the best products and services to insulate their spaces: attics, basements, crawlspaces and newly constructed homes. In addition to cellulose fibre and fiberglass, they use a polyurethane spray foam that’s the best on the market, Jake says. “We stay on top of that with the best quality foam we can get with the highest R-rating (the measure of effectiveness in preventing heat loss).”

They also spray the foam with a fire-retardant paint and heat-reflective coating. “It’s approved in Ontario to spray over any foam,” he says. “It’s really good and a big safety feature.”

Customer service is something that sets Janzen Insulation apart. “We’re very thorough with our jobs,” Jake says, and they make sure to clean up after themselves. “Our staff is very good at housekeeping. We definitely aim to please.”

Customer satisfaction is reflected in the amount of work they get. “We are very busy. People around here know what we do, and we have a lot of clients calling back.” In fact, much of their business is generated through word-of-mouth referrals.

The brothers are also committed to helping their customers with affordability issues, advocating rebate programs that can help with home improvement costs and result in energy savings. The currently available Home Efficiency Rebate may generate up to $5,000 for furnaces, air sealing, new windows and doors, as well as insulation. “There’s a return on basically anything to improve energy,” Jake says. “We encourage people to look into that, especially if they’re doing a lot of renovations.” 
