While in Northern Ireland, visit the awe-inspiring Giant’s Causeway, with its 40,000-interlocking polygonal-shaped basalt columns, formed as a result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. There are approximately 40,000 of these stone pillars, each typically with five to seven irregular sides, jutting out of the cliff faces as if they were steps creeping into the sea, with some reaching heights of 330 feet.

Venture further north to take advantage of the sights along the Inishowen Peninsula , where you will journey to the northwesternmost tip of Ireland.

As you make your return journey to the southern region of this lovely island nation, travel through the beauty of Connemara to tour the Kylemore Abbey.  Be sure to stop in the small but intriguing city of Galway.  As you journey through the lush countryside filled with thatch cottages, be sure to stop at Belleek to witness the demonstrations by talented local potters. These craftsmen have created exquisite collectibles that have graced homes since the mid-19th century.  You will definitely want to pick out some of their distinctive wares to ship back home where you can continue to enjoy their fine artistry.  While in this scenic city, visit Galway Castle for an evening of medieval entertainment, dinner, and drinks that will cater to your elegant taste.

No trip to Ireland would be complete without exploring Killarney, with its fine selection of inviting pubs, restaurants, and boutiques. You will also want to take time to explore the exquisite Cliffs of Moher, rising to a peak of 702 feet above the pounding Atlantic Ocean. While there, scan the horizon for a view of the Aran Islands.

Acquire the ‘gift of the gab’ as the myth would have you believe, by kissing the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle . Nearby, you must drive to Waterford to take a tour of the House of Waterford Crystal , where you can dive into the culture and learn the history of this wonderful sparkling product while witnessing a demonstration by master craftsmen from start to finish.  Their showroom affords another welcome shopping opportunity to ship gifts and souvenirs home without the hassle of packing them yourself.  Waterford’s shipping services were so swift, my gifts almost made it back to Charlotte before I did!

Arrive back in Dublin for some last-minute sightseeing before heading back on a direct flight to Charlotte.

LET'S GO OUTSIDE AND COOK

As soon as you pull up into the parking lot at the Butcher’s Market off Rea Road and take a look at the very unique building, you know there is something special about this place. It has a welcoming feel that reminds you of a traditional meat market you’d find in a small but sophisticated community.

When you walk in, you’re greeted by friendly staff, wood chips and bags of flavored charcoal dispensed and stacked immediately to your left. You immediately decide to pick up a few for grilling today and again soon.  As you move further down toward the refrigerated meat cases, you are tempted by the variety of poultry, meats, and seafood you see. You’ll want to try everything, but stay focused and pace yourself. The Butcher’s Market will have even more fresh meats and foods tomorrow. No matter your menu’s details for today, it’s nice to know you’ve found a great place to satisfy your culinary desires for a long time to come. On this day, you’re here to pick up the ideal steaks for grilling out with your family and friends.

You choose ribeye steaks, but before you leave the store, you’ll notice it has everything else you need to serve a great gourmet meal.  Check out all the seasonings and marinades to add a special touch to your dishes. You’ll also find vegetables, side dishes, breads, fine wines, specialty beers, and desserts from some of the finest bakers and providers in the area. You’ll also see much more that you’ll want to pick up for days ahead or on your return trip including frozen pre-prepared meals to go.

Back to your mission at hand, you can return home knowing that you’ve found the perfect items you need including your ribeye steaks from your new friends at The Butcher’s Market.

Here is what you need to know about grilling ribeye steaks. Grilling a ribeye steak is an art that results in a mouthwatering culinary experience.  The process begins with selecting a high-quality ribeye cut, known for its excellent marbling and tenderness and you’ve done that with your selections from The Butcher’s Market.

Ingredients:

• 2 ribeye steaks (1 to 1.5 inches thick)

• 2 tablespoons olive oil

• 2 teaspoons kosher salt

• 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

PREPARING THE STEAKS:

Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit for about 30 minutes before grilling.  This allows them to cook more evenly.  Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around400-450°F or 200-230°C).

SEASONING THE STEAKS:

Brush both sides of the steaks with olive oil to prevent sticking.  Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper, gently pressing it into the meat.  Alternatively, you could use the seasonings or marinades that you brought home from The Butcher's Market.

PREPARING THE GRILL:

Clean the grill to remove any debris left from previous use. If desired, lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.

GRILLING THE STEAKS:

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks on the preheated grill. Close the lid and cook for approximately 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness. Adjust the cooking time based on your preferred level of doneness and the thickness of the steaks. For medium doneness, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes per side. As the steak grills, the intense heat creates a delightful, caramelized crust on the outside, while the marbled fat melts, infusing the meat with rich, juicy flavors while sizzling as it sears into perfection. The tantalizing aroma of the grilling ribeye fills the air, making taste buds tingle in anticipation. If using a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should reach around 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, or 140°F (60°C) for medium doneness.

RESTING AND SERVING:

Once the steaks are cooked to your desired level of doneness, remove them from the grill and transfer them to a cutting board or serving platter.

Allow the steaks to rest for about 5-10 minutes. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute within the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.  Every bite should be tender and bursting with succulence.

Slice the ribeye steaks against the grain into thin slices and serve immediately.  A grilled ribeye steak offers a rich and robust flavor profile that is often described as intense and satisfying.  The rich, beefy taste of the ribeye is complemented by the smoky undertones imparted by the grill, creating a harmonious flavor profile. The grilling process transforms the ribeye into a culinary masterpiece, capturing the essence of a perfectly cooked steak that satisfies both the palate and the soul.

Exterior Design Changes to Your Home

DZINLY BRINGS ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES TO EXTERIOR DESIGNS

Jackie Mosher is a dynamo. You can feel the energy when talking to her. You can imagine the wheels churning in her brain. You can see it in the Instagram videos she posts for her company, Dzinly.

It’s no wonder, then, that the pioneering concept that is Dzinly was born from her innovation, along with her husband, Matt Mosher, starting as a seed in 2014.

“Business,” to the Moshers, is the wide world of real estate: Jackie has been in the real estate industry for more than 20 years, including running her own residential appraisal company; Matt launched

his landscape architecture firm, Mosher Design Co., as a teenager. Together, the pair of serial entrepreneurs realized that there was a very simple need.

The answer: Dzinly ( dzinly.com ) is the much-buzzed-about Royal Oak, MI based, nationally reaching virtual technology platform that lets users easily, and affordably, reimagine a home’s exterior before investing time and money on materials, contractors, and DIY projects. Launched in 2021, it is revolutionizing the way people view home improvement, literally.

Pay a visit to Home Depot on any given weekend, and you’ll see swarms of shoppers squinting at paint samples, trying to imagine what the colors might look like on their own home’s exterior. Dzinly removes the guesswork from the process — plus so much more.

“In the whole design world, it’s sort of an accepted unknown: An architect or designer or whoever will propose a project, and suggest where to put something, what color and so on, and the homeowner has to trust them,” says Jackie Mosher, Dzinly’s COO. “You can throw it on a 2D rendering, but it’s not a true representation of what the project is going to look like. With Dzinly, you don’t have to visualize. All the indecisiveness went away.”

Dzinly not only lets the user see exactly what their home will look like, but they can switch out different

colors, different materials, and add architectural changes, all with the input of a professional designer guiding the way.

Users begin by uploading a clear image of their project, whether an existing home or new construction, with detailed notes. “You can add comments and inspirational photos, provide links,” Mosher says. “You can say, ‘I don’t even know what I like, but I know what I don’t want,’ or ‘I already bought this stone but don’t know what to put with it,’ anything you want.” The project then goes to in-house designers, who send back three different pallet renderings within two business days. You can choose one (or additional ones for a fee) and the designer will render the pallet onto your home in one more day.

From there, the software really shows its stuff. “We built this awesome toggle function that not only showcases the designer’s recommendation but puts the process into the hands of the homeowner,” Mosher says. “They can toggle to add materials, try out colors, and the project never expires. Maybe you like one color, but your husband wants to see it a little darker. You can use the toggle to try a lighter trim, or look at this area in board and batten, this area horizontal — everything is put into a sandbox full of toys, and you can play and toggle as much as you want until you come up with the combination you love. But it’s started off and directed by professional designers.”

Users can chat with their designer, add items to their sandbox, show them Pinterest boards and the designer will track it down. Architectural changes are optional, for a fee — maybe you’re debating whether to add a dormer or a boxed bay window, or change the size of a window. The project would first go to an in-house architect and proposed elements would be built onto the rendering.

Once you’ve settled on a winning design, you see that “there’s so much more to this, down to hiring yourself a vetted local architect or contractor to carry out the project,” Mosher says. “Our network is going to be massive. All of our materials and colors are

readily available. The project can be shared with anyone, including friends or your own conventional designer. It’s a one-stop shop in every sense of the word.

“Designers, too, can benefit,” she says. “Whether they’re out of San Diego, New York, Charlotte or wherever, it’s an amazing tool for them to promote and excel in their career, expand beyond their local market, which can be difficult to do. We’re creating the largest network of designers nationwide, each going through an in-depth qualification review.”

Although Dzinly began as a passion project on the side of the couple’s many other endeavors, “now it’s a monster that needs to be fed every day,” Mosher says. “We truly built this ourselves, with a full-time tech team. We were involved in every storyboard, every icon, every button, it was all blood sweat and tears — there’s not one thing that we did not purposefully build.”
