WHAT IS 100% GENUINE CORK FABRIC? Cork is harvested from the cork oak tree which is found mainly in coastal areas of Portugal and Spain. The fabric is made by boiling the bark and then placing thin slices onto a cotton polyester backing. The top of the cork fabric is sealed with two layers of waterproofing sealant so that nothing can penetrate through. This fabric is upholstery grade material and meant to be as durable as leather and last for many years. The additional features of cork are: Lightweight Waterproof
Scratch Resistant Mildew Resistant
Hypoallergenic Stain Resistant
The fabric is cleaned using a damp sponge and water and requires no oils or additional treatments.

French Quarter Icon, Amzie Adams Amzie Adams is a multimedia artist, poet, actor, musician, filmmaker and painter who has been a French Quarter icon for over forty years. His artwork depicts New Orleans culture and architecture in a unique style all his own, a blend of psychedelic dreamscapes, vibrant twisting color palates and soulful figures in a style he describes as ‘post-impressionistic spacialism’. His work embodies and displays the classic and bohemian flairs of the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny, the heart and soul of New Orleans. The reality of Adams’ life is ever vague, though if half of what he claims is true, his life is the stuff of a modern epic poem. The son of a photographer and a painter, Adams learned at an early age to incorporate both medium into his work. He served in the Marines in the early 60s, and subsequently relocated to New Orleans during the hippie influx of 1968 and… he never left. In addition to painting, Amzie was an artist for the underground newspaper Nola Express and is an accomplished musician playing in several bands at music venues in and around the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater. This modern day Renaissance man can be spotted throughout the French Quarter sporting a black top hat, white beard and custom made clothing. He is also recently in the Trailer for The American Horror Story New Orleans and in the PBS documentary American Experience New Orleans Between Tennessee Williams and Louis Armstrong, Chapter 12, and In the airports Welcome to America Video and Welcome to Mardi Gras 2014. Amzie Adams can be found at Lisa Victoria Art Gallery, 616 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA. They represent 20 Local New Orleans Artists and have the Original of the Mardi Gras poster Mardi Gras 2014 By Amzie Adams
His work has been sold in art galleries all over the world, and is the pride of many private collections. Page 14

Fun & Interesting Facts
Information about NOLA & Louisiana
The name Mardi Gras means Fat Tuesday, a day of feasting before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. This day is also known as Shrove Tuesday. New Orleans first celebrated Mardi Gras in 1743 with Governor Marquis de Vaudreuil hosting a Carnival ball. New Orleans' Carnival had many similarities to Carnival in Europe. They were both celebrated privately and publicly by all ranks of people. Europe and New Orleans had Carnival balls and they both marched and celebrated in the streets as well. Floats became part of the New Orleans celebration in 1837 and since then have become an integral aspect of festivities. In 1872, the official colors of Mardi Gras were chosen based on an honored visitor to New Orleans: Russian Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff. The purple stands for justice, the green for faith, and the gold for power. Mardi Gras has events organized by private clubs known as krewes. Today there are about 60 krewes that plan the parades and balls of New Orleans' Mardi Gras. The oldest krewe, the Krewe of Comus, was founded in 1857 by men who feared the outrageous antics of Mardi Gras would lead to the holiday being outlawed. Mardi Gras became a legal holiday in Louisiana in 1875. One of the most popular traditions of Mardi Gras is the King Cake, which is a coffee cake pastry with a plastic baby inside. Traditionally, whoever finds the baby in his or her piece of cake is said to have good fortune throughout the year and must provide the King Cake for next year's party.
