A PUBLIC NHS – WE WILL: • Fight for a publicly funded NHS free at the point of use and end the creeping privatisation of its services. • Make mental health a much higher priority with resources to match this status.
A FAIR ECONOMY – WE WILL:
alAN says ... I have lived in Bolton South East for over 30 years, working previously in engineering and now in social care, and am well aware of the problems that we face. I joined the Green Party because, like many of you, I felt that the main Parties did not represent ordinary people like us and I wanted to help bring about change. There is an alternative vision where people matter, and not just the interests of big business and the super-rich. We need to secure a future for our children that will give them the opportunities they deserve in life. The banks need to be reformed, and the super-rich should pay their fair share in taxes. We need to renationalise our railways, and energy, and invest in energy efficiency programmes. Locally I am involved in the campaign to defend Bolton’s Health Services, the campaigns against the bedroom tax and public service cuts, and the campaign against the use of ‘fracking’ which risks environmental contamination.

• End austerity and restore the public sector to create over one million good jobs. This will be paid for with a wealth tax on the top 1%, a Robin Hood tax on the banks and the closure of tax loopholes. • A minimum wage of £10 an hour by 2020.
DECENT HOMES – WE WILL: • Abolish the unfair Bedroom Tax. • Build 500,000 new social rented homes and bring empty homes back into use. • Introduce rent caps and longer tenancies for renters.
A SAFE CLIMATE – WE WILL: • Take serious action to ensure global temperatures do not rise further. • Phase out fossil fuel based energy generation and nuclear power. • Invest in renewable energy, flood defences and building insulation.
