GENERAL ELECTION
standing up for public ne
ed, not private greed
# Action to tackle the housing crisis. I am actively campaigning with local residents against the demolition of genuinely affordable social rented housing on the Sutton Estate and at Earls Court and its replacement with luxury housing for the very rich. Greens want to introduce rent control for private tenants.
# Defending our NHS and social care The Green Party has a positive vision for the country and this constituency. Greens stand up for the public good, in contrast to the tired and failed politics of the traditional parties.
I will stand up for a publicly run, publicly managed ‘not for profit’ health service, oppose the closure of a local residential care home in the constituency and support the NHS reinstatement bill.

“I have strong links to the constituency, living in it for more than 25 years and serving as an elected local councillor and a governor of local schools. I successfully worked with local residents to save Fulham Palace and housing estates from being sold off. My son was born in the Chelsea and Westminster hospital in this constituency and I am passionately committed to the NHS, volunteering at a hospital and working as a health regulator to protect patients and improve their quality of care. If elected as your MP, I will live in the constituency. Being an effective MP is a full time job – I won’t take any paid or unpaid employment or consultancies from private companies or developers.” guy.rubin@greenparty.org.uk @guyforthegreens facebook.com/GuyRubinGreenParty http://pledge.greenparty.org.uk
ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION
Air pollutants are estimated to lead to the premature death of 4000 Londoners each year. I want a 20 mile an hour speed limit, 10% off public transport fares, a low emission zone and safer streets.
# Fair wages and taxes Greens will introduce a wealth tax on those with assets of over £3 million, a financial transaction tax, abolish the ‘bedroom tax’ and student loans, oppose the ‘mansion tax’, introduce a London Living Wage of at least £10 an hour by 2020.
# Invest in public services, create jobs We want – free early education, childcare and university tuition, to provide 500,000 socially rented homes, public ownership of railways and free social care for the over 65s. This will create 200,000 jobs and will be financed by a wealth tax, cancelling Trident and HS2.
