#say no to politics as usual #Protect the NHS #Ban fracking #free education #Railways in public hands #£10 an hour minimum wage #NO to bedroom tax

# A PUBLIC NHS – WE WILL: 3 Fight for a publicly funded NHS free at the point of use and end the creeping privatisation of its services. 3 Make mental health a much higher priority with resources to match this status.

# A FAIR ECONOMY – WE WILL:

jan says ... As someone who has witnessed the demise of our great industries of pottery making, coal mining, steel manufacturing and tyre manufacture I have come to believe the representation of the people of Stoke on Trent is feeble and ineffective. With its policies for a minimum living wage of £10 per hour by 2020, fairer and better employment rights – the abolition of zero hours contracts – reversing the creeping privatisation, by stealth, of the NHS and education – fairer taxation and ending tax loopholes for multinational companies and wealthy individuals, I believe the Green Party speaks for millions of UK citizens like no other party. It is only with the Green Party that we can make the bold changes that are necessary to build a better economy and brighter future for our city – and our children.

3 End austerity and restore the public sector to create over one million good jobs. This will be paid for with a wealth tax on the top 1%, a Robin Hood tax on the banks and the closure of tax loopholes. 3 A minimum wage of £10 an hour by 2020.

# DECENT HOMES – WE WILL: 3 Abolish the unfair Bedroom Tax. 3 Build 500,000 new social rented homes and bring empty homes back into use. 3 Introduce rent caps and longer tenancies for renters.

# A SAFE CLIMATE – WE WILL: 3 Take serious action to ensure global temperatures do not rise further. 3 Phase out fossil fuel based energy generation and nuclear power. 3 Invest in renewable energy, flood defences and building insulation.
