The New Orleans City would be easily affected by the hurricane because of its location and its topograph. Even though people have realized suck kind of disadvantage and have already built great concrete levees to protect their city. The city would still be flooded when the hurricane katrina came. The traditional levees would fall. So we need to come up with a new way to protect the city from flooding.

SITE The island is all about nature. And there is no limitation on the nature situation or any other rules guiding people. The building is conceived as a container to foster collaboration and intersectional dialogue among the institution. The institution previously had separate buildings. A new building is trying to create a central space for informal social, intellectual and creative exchange.

people can see the mountain Baiyun Mountain SITE
This site is located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, China. It used to be part of the Baiyun Airport. Nowadays the site is surrounded by residential communities and commercial centers. The theater is designed to satisfy the need of residents for recreation. The Baiyun Mountain is not too far away from the site. So it is important to create a public open space in the theater in which people would see the beautiful mountain and enjoy their leisure time.

In a historic district, preserving the context of the city is a very important part in this urban design. The floor of the model is made by glass, which allow us to have a close look to see what is happenning underground. Creating public space in the underground would be useful to preserve the city context. Also, more open space would be another benefit for the near residents.
