Learning From Pop The Campbells Soup Can drew by Andy Warhol is definitely an icon of pop art. No matter how we change the label, no matter how we change the elements, the soup can could always be recognized as that "Soup Can". circulation

In this project, we try to learn the need of Los Angeles residents. We try to pick several representitive housing types. And we try to produce those housing types in a different way, or many ways. Dingbat, the typical housing type in Los Angeles. What would it become if it has to be produced in a great amount? In an existing residential community?
site planning strategies
The project is titled the platform. It is trying to double the density of an existing residential community. It is also ensuring comfortable courtyards for every home. The existing context of the community would not be changed. It starts with a small portion of the existing units' figures. The portion is enlarged to fill in the outline of the site. It could also be changed to satisfy the requirements. It works so simply which just stack units on top of the platform. While the units are built in module, the platforms they sit on are different from each other.

02 Levee's Evolution Multi-Functional Institute Academic, personal work Tutor: Lorcan O'Herlihy w/Ian Dickenson Site: New Orleans, LA, US Spring, 2015
Protect New Orlean! A profoundly altered planet, the earth is what our fossil-fuel driven civilization is creating. The earth and raised the sea level by about eight inches over the past century due to the carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases. Due to its bowl-shaped topography, most area of the New Orleans city are below mean sea level. If another hurricane at Sandy scale flooding came in the future, the whole city of New Orlean would be under the water. Although people have already built levees to protect the city from flooding, they did not always work. We Need to change! Non-hurricane seasons
Hurricane seasons
Alternative Levee Concept
multi layers of levees to reduce the power of flood
conventional floodwalls protect the entrance
Shape of floodwalls being transformed
extend green plants as additional speed bump
different programs plug into the levees
levees approach to the sea as walkways
Agglomerational effect of the programs
multi entrances in each programs for accessibility
alternative levees done!
