This site is located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, China. It used to be part of the Baiyun Airport. Nowadays the site is surrounded by residential communities and commercial centers. The theater is designed to satisfy the need of residents for recreation. The Baiyun Mountain is not too far away from the site. So it is important to create a public open space in the theater in which people would see the beautiful mountain and enjoy their leisure time.

The site is located in a central park of Heshan city in China. The center is designed to present a beautiful view of the lake and mountains for residents. Also, they could do some reading and relax themselves in the floating building. The concept of the design comes from Chinese classical gardens. In order to leave a better view for all the people, great volume of the building is cutted and some part has been raised.

Developed framework analysis
In a historic district, preserving the context of the city is a very important part in this urban design. The floor of the model is made by glass, which allow us to have a close look to see what is happenning underground. Creating public space in the underground would be useful to preserve the city context. Also, more open space would be another benefit for the near residents.

Dongshan District used to be the residential area for previous generations who returned China from western countries. So the houses they lived presented a combination of traditional Chinese and western architectural styles. However, the previous generations no longer live in these houses. There is no one would actually pay attention to protect such historic buildings. More and more houses are going to be demolished. We might not have a second chance to see this special Dongshan culture in the near future.
