The New Fry Education Center On September 17th, the Fry Healthcare Foundation hosted an Open House for the new Fry Education Center at Boundary Community Hospital. The creation of the new education facility was a joint project between the Fry Healthcare Foundation and Boundary Community Hospital. With foresight the Board of Trustees of Boundary Community Hospital in 1996 purchased a house on Kaniksu Steet adjacent to the hospital campus. In 2008 and 2009 the Fry Healthcare Foundation dedicated their fundraisers to the benefit of renovating this house to become the Fry Education Center. The Fry Education Center houses a classroom space, a computer lab for online learning opportunities, and an exam room for practical application of technics to be performed, and an office for the Education Director. Education is a part of the foundation of excellence in healthcare that Boundary Community Hospital provides our community. It is important for medical professionals to keep abreast of the latest information and to keep current with their qualifications. Boundary Community Hospital is very fortunate to have a strong Education Department. The medical professionals at our hospital are able to stay current and improve their knowledge base here on the hospital campus. Currently education events are held in a rented building located at the southern edge of the hospital grounds. Several times a year, Boundary Community Hospital in connection with North Idaho College offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class. Being able to offer this class locally helps residents of our community further their education here at home instead of having to travel out of town. We are fortunate to have on staff several instructors who can offer certifications in Emergency Nursing Pediatric Care, Trauma Nursing Critical Care, Pediatric Advanced Lifesaving Skills, and Cardiac Advanced Lifesaving Skills. These are just to name a few of the educational opportunities available.
