S
imple ways to plan a great holiday party. First you want to pick the right date, schedules fill up fast between Thanksgiving and New Year's, so reserve your date early. It's hard to do something on Fridays or Saturdays
in early December since people are booked with office parties. Second, select a theme, this will set the tone for everything. Do whatever it takes to solidify your vision—make and update lists, draw diagrams, research food and drink recipes. Advance planning also gets you psyched, and your guests will catch on. littlebitmag.com 27

ow it's time to plan your guest list.Whether you're mailing or sending an evite
a carefully crafted invite will provide a sneak peek of your soiree and get guests pumped. If you decide to email invites, make sure to personalize them, if you choose to mail allow enough time to arrive to your guests. Be inspired by nature; like fashion, holiday decorations cycle through trends. This year, decorators are turning to real plants and authentic embellishments to create natural not gaudy wintertime scenes. littlebitmag.com 29

he big decision: paper or china. Some party planners favor disposables over real dishes, but for eco-conscious entertain-
ers, we suggest party ware made from bamboo or other plant products. They're hip and you don't have to feel guilty about tossing them!

Jennifer Sbranti (Hostess with the Mostess) provides tips for holiday entertaining: “Aside from being
a fabulous excuse to use lots of sparkle, shimmer, and twinkle lights, one of the things I love most about holiday entertaining is the wide variety of styles and colors you can choose from to create
a festive atmosphere that really makes YOU feel merry! Whether it’s a crafty, homespun holiday look that you love – or maybe an elegant & glamorous, all-white winter wonderland – the holidays are all about bringing the magic of the season to life in your own favorite way and sharing
that festive atmosphere with your loved ones… while enjoying some fabulous food & drinks, of course!
littlebitmag.com 33
Just remember to focus on the joys of being creative and how much fun that can be instead of striving for party perfection‌ when all is said and done, some festive music, good drinks, and great company are all you really need for the makings of a great holiday party (preferably adorned with a few strands of white twinkle lights though!).

It's always exciting designing children birthday parties; but this particular one is dear to my heart. It is the sixth birthday of my little Kimora. I've been in love with GapKids since my oldest son who is now in college was a baby; so when I saw the "I WANT CANDY" collection I nearly lost it. Inspired by the vibrant colors, textures and of course the candy; I decided to create a design reflective of our love for the collection. From creating the custom paper flower wall to the delicate graphic embellishments on the stationery, I didn't want to leave a detail un-touched.
