About Studio Lilesadi designs interior textiles and products with attitude. The studio was founded in 2012 in Rotterdam by the creative duo of German textile designer Dinah Smutny and her sister Sarah Smutny. Lilesadi stands for delicate and minimalistic design. Simplicity through texture, materials, graphic details, delicate patterns and a soft colour palette with a lot of black and white. The studio experiments with different textures such as stones and marble and loves to play with soft shades and gradients. Lilesadi does not follow trends or fashion, they decide about the final colours during the design process, it depends on the flow they are in. Lilesadi draws a lot of inspiration from the mix of shades, materials and the structures in the cityscape of Rotterdam. The duo enjoys to collaborate with other design studios and brands. The studio recently collaborated with Photowall Sweden, Siebring Zoetmulder, Bershka and Studio Rafaele Rohn. Inspired by these projects LileSadi places a strong focus on future collaborations with other designers and brands.

Lilesadi x Rafaele Rohn Lilesadi collaborated with Studio RafaĂŤle Rohn. The result are elegant photo- and cardholders and a minimalist necklace in the look of marble & gold. A sophisticated way to showcase pictures and postcards.

Lilesadi x Photowall Sweden Lilesadi designed several wallpaper collections for Photowall Sweden. In their new wallpaper ‘Marble 2.0’ marble and concrete truly come to life in a beautiful pattern combined with soft pastels. The previous collection ‘High Above’ the duo designed for Photowall is inspired by graphical structures and animals in the mountains. The result is four wallpaper motifs, representing each a unique take on the theme.

Lilesadi x Studio Siebring & Zoetmulder Lilesadi collaborated with Dutch product- and interior designers Siebring & Zoetmulder. Their first collaborative product, the ‘Daily Gems’ cabinet is not only a functional organizer, but also a playground for aesthetic compositions of materials, structures and shapes. Suddenly daily artifacts become part of what looks like a classical Dutch still life painting, the concept that gives roots to the name ‘Daily Gems’.” Their cabinet features two boxes cleverly juxtaposed and interconnected, creating interesting and functional spaces. The boxes are designed with beautifully milled lines all around the cabinet. They create a subtle pattern and rhythm, serving as rails for several different materials. The materials were carefully selected and hand-crafted. Each one tells its own narrative: circular screen-printed mirrors, a perforated recycled metal square, a brass triangle with rain drops from Rotterdam and a hand-made cobalt blue porcelain circle. ‘We combined the best of both worlds. Creating a design with a multi disciplinary background, we believe through collaborating and focusing on our individual skill sets we can create better and more in-depth design”.

Lilesadi x Bershka Lilesadi and Siebring&Zoetmulder presented their designs at Bershka window displays worldwide as part of B.Y.D.P. (Bershka Young Designers Project). Their designs were on display in 18 flagship stores worldwide during the month of July 2015. ‘Daily Gems’ is a collaboration between interior/product design Studio Siebring & Zoetmulder and textile/pattern design Studio LileSadi. They thrive to achieve more in-depth design through multidisciplinary collaboration.
